Tourist Attacked by Transgender on Pattaya Beach Road: Calls for Increased Security

Why does all this mayhem constantly occur in Pattaya? What sort of people are drawn to this activity? How the hell do people actually manage to live there full time? My part of western Bangkok seems so utterly normal.

Note to self:  Whilst carrying a supermarket bag and being assaulted by a Ladyboy, resist the temptation to maintain possession of said bag. Drop the bag and deliver a right cross. Or at least learn how to deliver a left jab. :coffee1:

Note to self:

Don't fight back unless you want the Ladyboy's friends to join in for the usual 6 Thais against 1 farang scenario.  Walking away, despite the continuing attack, can be the smart option.

An incident of violence erupted in the early hours of March 22 near the entrance to Pattaya’s Walking Street. A foreign national was assaulted by a transgender  in full view of passersby, with the attack being caught on video by onlookers.

The footage shows a tall transgender woman dressed in a cream-coloured outfit and high heels aggressively confronting a foreign male tourist, estimated to be 50 years old. The man, dressed in a black t-shirt and cream trousers and carrying shopping bags, was subjected to verbal abuse before the assailant escalated to physical violence.

Eyewitnesses described how the attacker lost control, launching a flying kick at the tourist before chasing him and striking him repeatedly with a high-heeled shoe. The victim, who tried to walk away, was relentlessly pursued and beaten on the head and body. Despite a crowd of tourists and locals witnessing the attack, no one intervened, possibly out of fear or because the attacker was known in the area. Eventually, the assailant walked away as if nothing had happened.

One witness reported that the incident began on the footpath near Soi 13/4, where the transgender individual had been following and hurling insults at the tourist. The altercation escalated near a beachfront massage parlour, where heated words turned into physical assault, culminating in the victim sustaining a head injury.

Locals claim that such violent incidents and petty crimes frequently occur in the area, often involving groups of transgender individuals engaged in prostitution. According to one observer, conflicts sometimes arise when tourists, upon realising they are being approached by transgender individuals, try to disengage. Some attackers reportedly fabricate accusations of harassment to extort money from their targets. The same individual involved in this latest assault is believed to be part of a group linked to a similar attack on another tourist on March 17.

Residents and business owners in the area have urged authorities to increase security patrols to prevent further violence and clamp down on illegal activities.

As for the injured tourist, there has been no official report of a police complaint being filed. It is understood that he sought assistance from Pattaya’s Special Affairs Division before possibly seeking medical attention for his head injury. Authorities expect that he may file a formal complaint at a later stage.

These low life's need to be kept on a leash with a choke chain collar and a muzzle

Not condoning the LB's actions at all...

... But, events like this usually involve some sort of trigger.....    Did the LB just start randomly attacking the foreigner for no reason ?...  I doubt it....

I get accused (usually by MalcomB) of only ever taking the side against the Thai's..  but thats not true, as with other recent events, I see what could be an incomplete story....

... something triggered the LB to kick off like that.

I also agree - there are way to many reports of LB's on beach Road causing issues and they seem to have a 'hair-trigger'...    Police do nothing.

Are the police going to wait for an official complaint from the tourist before they arrest the ladyboy or will they take action and make the arrest without an official complaint like they did recently when the Swiss national had the altercation with the Thai. Double standards of justice it seems.

Which Swiss-on-Thai arrest are you suggesting didn't involve a police report?

If police do not witness an incident/crime or a complaint is not made to them, generally, they cannot make an arrest without a warrant.

Probably never intervened because of the size of him!

The recent one that was splattered all over Thai news that showed a traffic incident in Pattaya lead to violence with the Swiss getting the better of the Thai. He was arrested and paraded in front of the cameras before any official complaint was made and before the Thai involved even was identified. I know they never make the arrest without the official complaint but in this case they did. Thats why i said it was a double standard of justice. It won't be hard to find, look in the Pattaya news section, was about a week ago or so.

When on earth are they going to address the issues with these freaks?

Right "these" loco foreigners should stay in their own country for this disgusting perversion with these miscreants

The problems they cause are usually not anything to do with their version of sexual services, more the aggressive way they offer themselves, their inability to keep their hands to themselves, and the thievery.

When a working girl or Ladyboy accosts you in the street, politely say in Thai or English "sorry, I go to eat food now". The important social/cultural aspect of eating in their culture comes to the surface and they usually jokingly respond with something like "I go also". Either way, you escape unscathed.

And do not be weak when the LB presses to come and eat with you too.... sitting in Cheap Charlies with a LB, it in  in short skirt high heels and so. That exaggerated voice and flouncy entrance will have the other customers spitting out their cheap fish and chips over their Singha vests.
