Japanese Fugitive Arrested in Thailand for Assault and Fraud
Picture courtesy of KhaoSod A Japanese national, aged 42, known as Kaneda, was apprehended in Thailand's Hua Hin district for crimes in both Japan and Thailand. Arrested on March 23 at 2pm, he faces charges of assaulting a compatriot in 2017 and extensive fraud in Thailand. Kaneda's capture follows an immigration police investigation, spurred by a Southern Bangkok Criminal Court warrant for fraud. Authorities allege that Kaneda deceived Japanese and Thai investors with false promises of lucrative returns in cannabis and other business ventures. His scams reportedly drained victims of approximately 10 million baht (around US$294,245), involving counterfeit documentation from Japanese companies in Thailand. Having entered Thailand last September through Don Mueang Airport, Kaneda's identity was verified through collaboration with the Japanese Embassy. Back in Japan, he is linked to a violent attack that's resulted in serious injuries to another Japanese citizen. The victim lodged charges after returning to Japan, prompting another warrant. His arrest yielded disturbing evidence pointing to potential involvement in a criminal network operating in Thailand, with materials hinting at ransom and human trafficking schemes. Kaneda, admitting his identity as the defendant in the warrants, is currently undergoing legal proceedings at Thung Maha Mek Police Station. This case underscores the global aspect of crime and the intricate cooperation required between nations to ensure justice is served. Thai authorities, working closely with international partners, continue to clamp down on cross-border criminal activities that threaten public safety and trust, reported The Thaiger. -- 2025-03-25 -

Visa-free stay in Thailand to be cut to 30 days
This for instance could explain the long stay visas much better then me. https://m.iglu.net/best-visas-for-vietnam/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=best_visa_for_VN&gad_source=1 India in the areas like Goa does have some very nice beaches with reasonable cost of living and very simple to get a visa valid for 1 year online. Check out the sites of Kerala or Tamil Nadu tourism. It's like Phuket without all the posing and inflated rates. -

Can Americans afford vacations anymore?
Yea, I took a lot more, and longer breaks away from home when living in Udon Thani. Now live were we use to go quite often, so sometimes wonder why we bother going O&A. They are shorter, and more about different food and a view, not so much exploring anything new, as already did that the first 20 years here. As stated a few times, the journey is more interesting than the destinations. And we only seem to settle in for a day or 2, before moving one. It's nice when we find a bungalow with a view & pool alang with good food, or a great night market nearby. -

Buying Gold with Hua Seng Heng "Gold Now" App
They have been in business for a long time - for multiple generations, as far as I know. I have bought from them many times, and more importantly sold back to them the gold that I bought from them. And whenever I visit their shop near my home, there are often HUNDREDS of Thais lining up there to buy and sell gold, whereas I rarely see customers at the other gold shops around me. All of those factors combine to make me conclude that they are trustworthy. -

Trump has lost the plot.
The laptop deny was not a lie, as the content of the laptop was not made available by Giuliani, apart from the NYPost, so it could not be checked. It was an assumption in the absence of available evidence. After the content was ultimately made available, it was assessed by MSM as at least partly valid (ex.WAPO). A sharp contrast with MAGAs still supporting the big lie, despite being debunked by the failure of all GOP lawsuits, recounts and audits. Not to mention the fact that it doesn't really matter as there was nothing incriminating in the laptop, as evidenced by the epic failure of the fake GOP committee investigation!
