They should have called the fire truck to hose him down with cold water...

While probably not a "total loser". He certainly looks to be headed that general direction.

Another in the endless parade of sots that's landed in Thailand as a two week millionaire and by the end of a year sleeping on the beach.

From my perspective, he is drunk and he’s only sleeping. That’s fine. When he wakes up, he will go home

The most sensible answer on here.

Nice one mate.

We all can't be perfect and it takes all sorts.

There are a few different scenarios why this chap did what he did but like me he is probably just a drunk.

But not harming anyone.

Well first of all it's Pattaya, so nothing should ever surprise anyone about the palace. This area seems to attract a high percentage of the and low end tourists that frequent Thailand. The balance of them seem to be in Phuket.

keep up...Phuket has been renamed little Russia ☻👣

This is just disgraceful behavior by some bar owners,

They are always just thinking about money.

Giving an American that third Bud Light.

it was only going to go south.

I hope he recovers over the next few days.

Here we see the difference between Thai rescue workers, mayby others, compared to Australia, duty of care  he would not have wondered off alone, police would have been there quickly, being drunk is one thing, but falling asleep in the middle of the road is serious.

clearly it was way past his bedtime in the US. I do not see what all the hubbub is for.

I rather like this part. Just how did the guard assist calling emergency services? Did he let someone borrow his phone to call the rescue or did he assist with the address haha..

Um, check the timezone, US would be approx. Midday, depending on which state.

My only issue, is where he fell asleep, and refusing help.

Umm timezone was in Thailand... Not the US.

Go back and read what I replied to... Geez... Which, by the way  was your comment... Have you forgotten what you actually post...555... You've been in Thailand far too long.

Pattaya too. And even Samui. They are taking over. Yikes. No thanks. The vast majority are highly unpleasant people. Marxist indoctrination?

Please, what/where is "PFP"?

Pay for play. Most here are familiar with the concept.

The general idea is paying a relatively small amount of money to a really hot woman, who then spends the next hour or so showing you an incredibly good time. Great deal.

The word that you are looking for is *prostitution "

For a handsome ,rich, intelligent guy such as yourself Mike .

Its rather odd that you need to go to cheap Countries just to have sex

Rich., handsome intelligent guys back home don't need to go abroad for cheap sex with prostitutes

On behalf of Americans, I object. This is NOT the middle of the road… it’s the side!  😁

Maybe try reading the OP, “Good Samaritans and other tourists had already moved him to the roadside before the rescue team arrived”, before posting.

so sleeping on the street if you are homeless = nobody gives a f. You are forgotten by society.

sleeping on the street drunk = prompt "concerned citizens", rescue services and police intervention.

Got it.
