Most of the boycotts are gaslighting- politicians looking to cash in on cheap political vibe. In the end, Canadians will go south for vacation. The weak Canadian dollar (thanks to the Liberals) is far more of a factor than any boycott.

As for Polievre, there is no evidence that he is a Trump clone. He is fairly centrist, practical, and a touch populist. Not sure where you are getting your election coverage, but the race is tight now. The Liberals have had their "honeymoon bounce" and have nowhere to go but down. Mark Carney is a terrible politician at the retail level. Unlikeable, uncomfortable, and far too cagey about his personal finances. Plus, his French is not up to par- notice how eagerly he ditched a French language debate with a major broadcaster in Quebec.

I predict we will see a slim majority Conservative victory. Less than the landslide if Trudeau had stayed, but a victory nonetheless.

Cheap political vibe? Looking at the poll swing after Trump started sh*****g all over Canada makes me doubt your description.

Must be infuriating for a Trump supporting Canadian to see their favorite American possibly crush their political dream. But anyway, we will find out next month how much damage Trump has done to the Conservatives.

The poll swing started when Trudeau resigned.  And now we have been without effective government for going on 4 months because of the BS the Liberal party is pulling.   As for Trump, not my favourite American by any means. Not even my favourite American politician!   Fav American would be Bill Maher or perhaps Michael Moynihan.  Politician?  Tough call... possibly Rand Paul or John Kennedy.

So, basically, what you're claiming is that Canadians don't have much of a problem with Liberal policies. It was mostly about Trudeau.

Certainly, the US could take over Canada militarily, but at what cost?

Trump has made America a pariah already, as far as the free world goes.

So what happens if the whole free world decides to boycott American products completely?

I just wonder how effective these spontaneous consumer boycotts turn out to be. It's clear that tourism is getting hurt. But what about Coca-Cola?

Frankly, that is true for a lot of people. Plus, Carney is trying to distance himself from Trudeau by taking planks from the Conservatives' platform and running towards the centre.

His problem will be in balancing between being too small-c conservative and also downplaying his significant role in the policies enacted by the Trudeau Liberals. Plus shedding his image as the pawn of the WEF and being a globalist before being a patriot.

I'll continue to live in Thailand and could give a da*m.  Btw - there isn't going to be a war between the two counties as much as the OP and a majority of AN members probably wants one to break out.

What the hell is with people in this day and age: everyone but a minority of us wants global war.  The problem being, most of those who are itching for war - don't want to fight in one - they want to send other people to get killed.

You people are sick.

Don't worry... You're still leading the race for the dumbest poster ever.

Oh contraire, he's spot on, and lost that race to the OP :cheesy:

If war breaks out between what countries? US & Canada? Not ever going to ever happen. Easy with the wild imaginary stuff, it’s silly.

But Donald wants it.

I did encounter an american many years ago, long before trump came along, who expressed fantasies of taking over canada.

maybe it's only a small minority, but there are people who enjoy flexing their military might for no reason.

i'm with john and yoko

Get real.

If Trump succeeds  as he says is his goal to ruin Canada economically and then attempt to annex it as he has openly said is his intention then it will be war.

It's not the question that is dumb.

It's Trump and any cult bozos that would support him in such insanity who are dumb.

The boycotts aren't gaslighting where I'm from

I personally know several that have cancelled us trips and instead it's now Mexico or Caribbean

My brother just sold his winter place in Arizona

As a western living in Edmonton, I predict a Liberal sweep.

Me a 67 yo white male living in Alberta is going to vote Liberal, my Social Credit father is spinning in his grave

Edmonton is a NDP haven provincially and I can see several seats here and in Calgary going liberal.

dani smith is managing to absolutely piss off everyone except her wildrose, tba base and is trying to swing votes by going to florida pragerU with ben shapiro.

Lots of Canadian votes down there (sarcasm)

I'm sure pp is wishing she stop supporting him.

B.C is looking at 50% liberal

It's not so dumb to Canadians.

"President" Trump has repeatedly and openly stated his intention to annex Canada as the 51st state and his opening tool for that is an extremely aggressive trade war.

Obviously the USA has much more military power than Canada if it came to that, but the same can be said of Russia vs. Ukraine and it's now three years later in an "SMO" that was supposed to take a few days.

Seems you worry more than us canadians. We really aren't that scared but if you are a busybody, as you seem to be, then the media hype will get to you.

Well you got your ass kicked and the White House burned down last time you tried invading Canada🤣

Canada wouldn't last 30 minutes if there was a military conflict.

You need to stop munching down on so many hype burgers. There will be no war with canada even if it is annexed.
