UK Passport renewal - email received 'send us your passport' 2 weeks after applying?
Man, seems like you and some others have really been put through the wringer with these passport renewals. With extra layers of outsourcing and bureaucracy the chances for a cluster situation arising goes up. What you quoted above, I don't get. So does your HMPO put out notice to all governments that they've made a new passport for a UK national (which is not yet in the person's possession) and they are 'cancelling' the valid status of the one that person is currently in possession of? Thus the 'you won't be able to travel' using the one the person possesses. Seems it'd just be better to cancel the validity if the current one, cancel the passport, when one is able to take personal possession of the new one. OR, is that how it happens anyway, and they just giving you a line of BS? -

For monthly income method you shall use a non-O visa from abroad, you cannot change a visa exempt to non-O without a Thai bank 800k baht deposit. And yes, only your name in the bank account for the monthly not less than 65k baht transfer. -

New Online Entry Requirement for UK Travelers to Thailand
I doubt it - if anyone gets denied entry due to this then the airlines who are not stupid, which is all of them will deny boarding to anyone who doesn't meet this entry requirement because they're not going to pay for the repatriation - which they would have to do - plus a fine equivalent to 1000s of USD which is why they scrutinise visas before allowing you to check in - every single denial of entry costs the airline - and it's normally more than the airfare. Expect the worst possible outcome from all of this. Half empty planes, cancelled routes, etc.
