I just checked the website and it does not provide Thailand as a country of residence.
How is this supposed to be filed in, as I've been here for over 18 years and have a valid long-term visa?
Another well-thought-out immigration requirement?

Your time here and visa means <deleted> all,.... you are not Thai so you enter the country of your passport... hardly rocket science.

Hopefully they will make the completion on arrival very time consuming, should soon dissuade those not willing/capable of doing it earlier.

Expand

When they had the paper TM6 there was often someone checking it had been filled in before being allowed to a desk.

I can see the same thing happening, if you don't have the QR code, sent to one side to do it.

Bit of an unhelpful answer.

Following your suggestion it would then be necessary to provide a city in country of passport and a telephone number in country of passport; are you saying just make things up.

I don't have a problem but there may well be those that do and possibly reluctant to be telling porkies.

The paper TM6 did not ask this information, just an address in Thailand. It is a significant difference and could be awkward for those that renew visas in neighbouring countries.

Time will tell, it always does.

Then that's a false statement as you can't provide a proof of residence. In that case why not randomly picking up any of the countries in the list.

In real who cares as nobody will check or ask for a proof.

You are free to believe what you want.

It would be helpful If you could tell the forum where they can get a visa that would allow an entry of 12 months.

Expand

You really making yourself look very foolish, ever considered doing any research before spouting drivel? As for 12 month Visa, a Non-O marriage visa, an OA visa, a B visa plus several others as most informed people on the forum know.

  1. What does BKK Bank online banking have to do with free wifi at the airport ?
  2. Thousands of old farts that live here do not need a smart phone for Online banking, that is done via a laptop or PC.... or are you confused with the differenc between BKK Bank Online banking and Mobile banking ?

Yes the OA & OX but not run of the mill visas and not very popular due to the health requirements.

The 12 month ME Non O hasn't been available in most countries for some time, so I say again, I am sure many will be interested in where you think they can be obtained.

I will  also say again, if you want to believe that a SE visa is still active after you enter, feel free.

There will be plenty of people around at the airport to help the old farts.

If they're really old farts living here and still traveling, this won't be the only issue they'll encounter.

As an 81 years UK old fart now living in Cambodia, I still regularly travel to Thailand by air and car. Yes, from my experience there are people who kindly help at airports, especially the wheelchair attendants. In 3 days time I shall be flying from Siem Reap to Khon Kaen with Air Asia. As my journey will be before the 1st May, I am expecting zero hassle with Immigration in Bangkok DMK. No TM6 as I shall be flying. All I get is an entry stamp in my passport. On my return, I have to complete a Cambodian electronic arrival card in Siem Reap. This is done ON ARRIVAL and not on a prior date. The wheelchair attendant usually does this for me as the electronic tablets in Immigration are fixed on high tables which cannot be easily reached from a wheelchair - bad planning in my opinion. You have to use the tablets provided, Smartphones are of no use!

With respect, what other issues am I likely to encounter when visiting Thailand?

I do not have a smartphone and when in Thailand I use cash or my Visa debit card to pay bills with no problems. Any company insisting on a QR code does NOT get my business!

The requirement is 3 days or less.  You can do it one minute before checking in for your flight if you want.

So I can't do it 5 or 6 days before I travel?

Don't forget it was this lot who created the 90 day online report, took em what? 3-4 years to perfect? --- Sort of!

Expand

The last time I tried needed to do the online 90 day report it didn't work and those at immigration didn't think it was a temporary glitch. There were a lot of reports online that it didn't work.

I also notice that you'll need to have filled this in for arrivals from 1st May so that's from 28th April. It's now 20th April as I write this, is the app working now, has it been trialled, or will it be ready sometime in the middle of May? There often seems a lack of preparation with these ideas.

The headline seems to be wrong in that case. I have seen articles on other sites suggesting that it needs to be filled in 3 days before arrival. Hopefully that's incorrect and it's 3 days or less, as you say.

I only just returned from the UK yesterday and I won't have to enter again until the beginning of September so hopefully it should all be working fine by then.

I wonder what terrible things have occurred between the dropping of the paper TM6 and the starting of this new scheme? Are we in great danger due to this lack of oversight?

Most likely not helpful with the TDAC as it has not been introduced yet and they are thinking... "what the <deleted> is this dumbass asking us about".

I have to admit I have been using (or in the early days, trying to use)  the 90 day reporting since it's inception and over the passed two years I have NO problems receiving the receipt within a few hours. I believe the service varies between Provinces.

I will be trying the new online card prior to 3rd May on my arrival back from Aust. Watch this space!

Oh, they'll probably have a form for folks who didn't charge their batteries. Or you'll have to queue up for ages at shared computer terminals to do it.

Thank you for posting the photo of the TDAC kiosks. I was wondering what they look like.
