Let's scenario it out shall we - Let's say an elderly man (80+) goes to a thai store for a bottle of milk. He doesn't notice due to his bad eyesight that the floor is wet, and there are no visible danger signs to suggest that it is.. He then slips on said wet floor, breaking his back, rendering him in a wheel chair for the rest of his life.

Now, who's fault was it? The old man trying to buy the milk or the shop owners for not cleaning the mess up or putting a visible danger sign up in time??

Has nothing to do with going to court. Imagen a old lady buying a microwave to use as a hairdryer for her small dog.

I'm from New Jersey originally, and I don't know anyone personally, old, young, child, that has not fallen on ice at least once. I have very good balance, and have all my life, and I walked outside a few times and went straight down on ice before I could do anything about it, as has many I know and personally seen. No matter how long you live in the north, you will end up on the ground eventually.

I had seen quite a few fall just outside a gym I went to at night after a quick freeze happened after a rainfall. Was outside waiting and watched at least 4 fall in the same place. All gym people like myself and all fit and young. The elderly have a tough time living up north, as a fall can break things. Snow, sidewalks wet from rain, not a problem, as there's traction on those if you're wearing shoes with soles that have ribs. No one's exempt if you live up north during the winter.

As far as what the post is about, Thailand will not be an easy place to sue for much of anything like the west. In the west, if you fall on another's property that has ice, you can sue. The same in a store with something spilled on a floor. Their responsibility is to keep the aisles safe for customers. Here you could fall anywhere and you would have a hard time getting anything but a laugh.

Wot you need to do is get yourself down to your nearest shopping mall and seek out a part where the floor is wet.

At the top of the longest down escalator preferably!

Many times over the years I have walked into shopping malls, outlets, stores etc in Thailand and there has been water on the floor (a spill) with no warning signs in place.

According to ChatGPT, these establishments can be sued for negligence if one slips, falls and becomes injured through no fault of their own..

Is this correct?

The Don.

Seriously, Bob? When you woke up with a hangover this morning, you thought this was actually an interesting topic for discussion? Really? You've got that little to talk about? Unbelievable, but not unsurprising.

Try taking your own advice!

There’s few amongst us wing to take up arms against a sea of troubles, and by opposing, end them; but they should at least have the nobility of the mind to endure them in stoic silence.

I know your plan.

You plan to secretly spill water on the floor, pretend to slip on the water, lay down in agony and wait for the ambulance.

The next day you will sue the business.

Let us all know how you go.

Good luck with your court case.

Oh yeah, find a good location, without CCTV

The Cow's at fault.

If she hadn't produced milk, none of it would have happened.

Do you look for problems or do they look for you?

No! It just makes them up from his very limited imagination.

So, only go into shopping malls with your nanny by the hand:stoner:

Well said, The idiot is a total 5 time loser.

Wet floors,  Thailand it is a mine field!  You got a better chance of walking outside of that mall and falling into a pothole🤣
