Dear Folks,

 

Normally, I do not much pay attention to vids like this.

 

However, this is a special case.

 

For one thing, I can't even understand the language that some kids from south of the border are speaking in the USA, these days.

 

For another thing, I can't even understand the lack of respect in USA's public schools, today.

 

And, for anther thing, I can't even understand how teachers are willing to teach in USA's public schools, today.

 

Some kid comes in drunk on BANANA No. 99, fighting the cops, and is this just pretty much emblematic of what is happening in the USA, these days.

 

Such things as this would have NEVER happened when I was young, back in the day.

 

But, I went to public school for only a very short time, before I quickly transferred out, and before I quickly escaped to an ALL WHITE boarding school, before I had to witness such trauma, when i was a young student.

 

And, they wonder why the USA is going downhill, these days?

 

Do we need some XiJingPing Thought in the USA Public School system, now, more than ever?

 

This is really so very crazy.

Sort of a dystopian Clockwork Orange.

This teen can't even speak English, if what she is speaking might actually be English, which is doubtful.....

You've said you haven't been to the US in, 40+ years? This means you don't know what's going on besides watching some videos that people post. What happened in this video happens all over the world, in most schools, with all nationalities and races. You haven't spent any time in any Asian schools so you can only assume what goes on. I have, many times here, and seen what goes on. That teachers were allowed to hit the students until only recently, although it still goes on, has some kids afraid to do anything, and fear isn't how you teach kids. 

 

Like the video you posted, To Sir With Love, shows, respect comes from teaching them how, although it should be first learned at home. Children here aren't looked at with the kind of love they are in the west, put into schools so they can babysit them, the parents not doing much to teach much of anything. Japan might be more structured, but most of Asia is this way. 

 

As far as you thinking the US is going downhill, look around, as most countries have major problems but the US schools are still very good, with some of the best teachers worldwide. I have grandchildren in schools now and had 5 kids myself, and all the schools they were (are) in are very good schools, with good records of student progress. Children here are passed even if they don't show up. You miss classes or fail grades in the US, you stay behind. 

 

I'm guessing you don't have any children, as I haven't noticed you saying you did, so it might be hard for you to understand kid talk. This kid was drunk, and slurring her words, but I understood most of it, as I've had 5 teens. All schools have out of control children, right up to major colleges You see a video of a child going off, and you think it's about all children, but it's not. Many children have a bad home life, and it shows in their schoolwork and actions outside of their homes, and schools aren't exempt.

 

If you think things are civilized in a much backwards, developing country, you're spending too much time indoors, and just a little research online can show you the stats of what goes on here daily with out of control children, from how women are treated, to people ganging up 5 against 1, using weapons, kicking them when they're on the ground, to daily road deaths and accidents from people with no clue how to drive responsibly, how schools are run, knifings, cruelty to animals, attacks on tourists, gang crime and illegal gun crimes, along with multitudes of other crimes.

Most people will never see a violent crime in person. I lived near NYC and worked there, visited many times, and never saw a crime. They happened daily and you can be on the next block and never know they happened.

I lived in New Jersey for 30 years, and next to San Antonio for 32, and never saw a violent crime. Just fights, thefts and a few road rages that didn't go that far. Of course crime happens everywhere, but the only way we know about them, without witnessing them, is by daily news and stats recorded. Who said fights are peaceful? When I refer to violent crime, I'm talking with knives and guns, rape, murder, trafficking humans and the like. Not a fist fight.

As much as I am embarrassed ALMOST to admit that you are 100% correct in your analysis of the problems in the US today.  I was born 78+ years ago in a lovely country loved by almost all the citizens, many of whom fought in the wars WWII, Korea and then some of us also fought in Vietnam (whether or not a valid war and run totally by the politicians) but that wasn't the cause of the total downfall of my nation.  I at times cannot recognize what it has become.  There are many states that I wouldn't mind if they just left the union as they are a drag on the country.  The political situationis truly screwed up IMHO with most of the elected officials just wanting to suck at the teats of the government while they deal on insider trading to get rich - how can they do so on just a government salary so...whatever they can garner, they do so without caring what the public thinks.  And why not, the public is so stupid in this regards as none want to serve the nation any longer anyway as the nation allows the current government to turn against the military anyway, no respect at all.  Time for ALL voters to get rid of the current pack, set up a 3rd political party not run by the Super pacs and elect some folks who wish to return the nation to yester years honesty.  Get rid of all this dead wood currently in power!

Hard video to watch.  Am 85, living the life here but I went to public school in a suburb of Boston.  In those days discipline in schools or anywhere was nothing like it is today.  If you got in trouble in school, you were punished there and again when you got home.  Seems like no matter the circumstance you were taught to respect everyone and especially your elders and people in positions of authority.  Regarding the video, and an earlier question, the language being spoken is almost certainly Spanish as they are in a Las Cruces N.M. public school.

I only watched the first two and a half minutes of the video, but I understood most of what the people were saying. What I couldn't understand was due to them speaking fast, but not because of the words they used or their pronunciation.

I'm 79 and went to a public grade school and high school in a small town in Indiana. It was all-White, but that's because the town I lived in was all-White. While in high school, we did have an exchange student from Turkey.

Everyone in the video was White and speaking English, so I don't know why you couldn't understand them.

I am also worried about how the kids in the USA are growing up, but it's not a surprise since it seems like a large percentage of the adult population seems rude and bonkers too. Trump was elected president, after all. 😞 

However, the US is always better than China. Many people may not realize that China has a ticking time bomb waiting to explode. China's problems are more than you can understand.

She speaks too fast. In YT settings, changing the playback speed to 0.75 made it a lot easier to understand her.
