Why so many conspiracy theorists and what to do about them

so HAPPY NEW YEAR to this thread - I know it can be a difficult time for flat-earthers seeing the celebrations from around the planet confronting their fundamental beliefs....

How Flat Earthers Explain New Year (Apparently):

Around the world, New Year arrives in tidy waves—except on a flat Earth, where it arrives via vibes, paperwork, and NASA lies. Time zones, we’re told, aren’t physical realities but bureaucratic hallucinations invented so trains wouldn’t bump into each other and so NASA could ruin parties more efficiently.

Some flat Earthers generously allow New Year to exist as a calendar event while firmly denying it has anything to do with the Earth moving, orbiting, or doing anything at all. The planet is stationary, the Sun definitely isn’t central, and the concept of a “year” is dismissed as a pagan, heliocentric holiday accidentally embraced by the entire globe.

Others invoke the ever-flexible Spotlight Sun, a magical roaming desk lamp that sweeps across the disc, illuminating each region just in time to shout “Happy New Year!” before sliding off to the next one. How this same spotlight maintains a constant apparent size, produces razor-sharp sunsets, and keeps seasonal daylight perfectly predictable remains a mystery—presumably classified.

When pressed on why Sydney celebrates first and Hawaii last, the answer varies between “human convention”, “they’re lying”, and “you don’t understand flat Earth physics”, which is fair, because neither does anyone else.

In short: New Year on a flat Earth happens everywhere at different times because of conspiracies, calendars, vibes, and a roaming Sun with impeccable punctuality—but absolutely not because the Earth is rotating. That would be ridiculous.

Perfect seasonal gift for a flat earther? - Occam's razor, of course! but I doubt they would know how to use it.

Time zones are fascinating. Australia is already in 2026, Europe is still in 2025, and in the USA, where flat-earthers and other conspiracy theorists have no idea what to believe because it’s all constructs and lies, it is currently in 1950.

Occam's razor leads to the observation of elements as they present themselves, i.e. a flat, still Earth under a local, circling Sun. It takes a lot of indoctrination to actually believe in something as twisted as this:

Time zones make perfect sense on a flat Earth. The local Sun moves above us like a clock and lights regions naturally – no need for the mental gymnastics required by the globe model.

That's the opposite of Occam's razor – I don't think you've opened the gift! -

So sadly in you case it has remained unused, still in the packaging; you probably denounced it as a NASA-funded blade.

Occam’s razor says the simplest explanation that fits the evidence is usually the right one. Flat Earth, by contrast, requires:

  • A motionless plane

  • A roaming spotlight Sun

  • Fake gravity or “density” doing all the work

  • Universal GPS, satellites, airlines, astronomers, physicists, ship captains, surveyors, and timekeepers all lying in flawless coordination

  • Time zones that exist, but don’t exist, but still somehow work

Whereas the globe model needs…

  • A rotating sphere

  • Gravity

  • Physics that works the same way everywhere

So yes, Occam’s razor neatly trims away the conspiracies, the magical lampshade Sun, and the infinite exceptions — leaving a globe behind.

Of course, the recipient would probably insist the razor itself is curved, CGI, or part of a Masonic plot — but philosophically speaking, it’s spot on.

🎁 Warning label: May cause cognitive dissonance if opened.

According to this, the Sun is circling around the Tropic of Capricorn at this time of year. So it explains why it's the hottest time of year in Australia as Australia is near the Tropic of Capricorn.

Time zones = it's light in the vicinity of where the sun is and at the other end of the earth, it's dark.

This model also explains why countries near the equator (like Thailand) are consistently hot all year round. Because the sun is always between the Tropic of Cancer and Capricorn, so never too far away from the Equator.

Any conspiracy you want to bring up is allowed ..... many, not just the jabs, are being discussed here.

You seem to think that there is some groupthink going on, well, just a conspiracy theory in your mind. You post a lot of rediculous stuff.... and seem obsessed with this area of the forum.

Using the word "stupid" does not make you smart, sir . Just post your views like anyone else . Climate change is a big, fat, farce. That is my view.

Climate change is a fat lie? Wondering in which reality you live in. If there where no climate changes on planet earth, there wouldn't be a window for homo sapiens to exist!

Any living creatures or plants have the power to change the climates if they get enough mass, unbalanced or becomes to dominated and changes the biomass that contributes to today's climate. Of course combined with other natural cycles and simultaneous happenings.

Climate change by man is a fat lie!

Taxing CO2 to save the planet is a fat greedy lie

Sea level rise (significant) is a stupid lie (cos all the rich are buying seafront property and islands)

if you and Frog would spend more time following the subject/ comments instead of just bleating out negative responses ..... then others here would not have to correct you so much ....

Red Phoenix posted this just the other day .. why not read up, then make pertinent response :

@save the frogs Here 4 threads posted 6 to 12 months ago on the Off-the-Beaten-Track sub-forum, which make it clear that the Climate Change narrative is a fraud/hoax/con/lie, which has been rammed through for the profitable agenda behind it.

I gave you a larf for that one...............clap2

Do some research, chap, you may learn something, eeeer, may........🤫

Plenty of posters in OTBT have fallen into the sceptic tank of science where the craziest theories unfettered by fact or diligent observation have been rotting for decades. If it weren't for the resurrection made possible by the WWW the offal would have rotted away harmlessly.

Approach without a gas mask at your own risk.

UNBEKOMING is without a doubt one of my favorite substack-writers and for good reason.

On an almost daily basis he posts worthwhile essays, consisting of (often lengthy) deep dives in matters of high interest for the readers of this sub-forum.

And in his 31 December look-back post, he provides a personal account in what led him to researching what some call 'conspiracy theories'.

An interesting - and for me very recognizable - discovery-journey.

Here is what he wrote after first providing an overview of the many topics he covered during 2025:

"This journey started in mid-2021 with a letter to my two adult children about the COVID vaccines. I published it, and that was how this Substack began. I spent months writing about the pandemic lies. Then I asked myself a question that changed everything: What else have they lied to me about?

The answer led me to childhood vaccines—and the realization that I had poisoned my own children. I’ve written plenty about that since. But I kept going, because the answer to “what else?” turned out to be: everything. There is nothing that matters that they haven’t lied about.

When you invert reality, you invert everything. Turn a Christmas snow globe upside down and everything inside flips with it. That is our reality.

We are the fish who have realized the meaning of “dry”—our challenge is trying to explain the meaning of “wet” to all the other fish. At times it feels impossible, because at times it is impossible.

But the power lies in the small things.

If we can help but one young family not poison their child, we are winning. If we can help but one pregnant mother not be devoured by the machine, we are winning. If we can help a friend find a genuine path to healing from cancer, we are winning.

In truth, these are not small things. They are the biggest things of all.

= = =

Wishing Everyone a Prosperous and Fulfilling 2026

Pretending to be dumb to make a point, are we?

The cyclic nature of climate is a given. The political dogma imposed by the Rockerfeller-founded (and funded) United Nations Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), however, is a different kettle of fish.

I've seen a lot of people go through this process. Covid was a transformative even for the best, though it was very painful. Once someone is awake, they don't go back to sleep. In fact, these are the answers to the OP's questions:

Why so many conspiracy theorists? Because people have woken up.

And what to do about them? You can't do anything about it.

Another 'rare' ailment confirmed. Over the past few years, the combination of 'rare' vaccine side effects has formed a significant whole: rare + rare + rare + rare… equals one, all-encompassing syndrome: CTWR (Conspiracy Theorists Were Right) syndrome.

We uncovered a troubling risk linked to the COVID vaccines

A potentially fatal inflammatory disorder has been connected to the COVID-19 vaccine, and one researcher told the Daily Mail she knows what's causing it.

I'm loving this new 'mental asylum' administration.

It truly baffles me when I see a poster here giving a ThumbsDown on this statement:

In an incredible development, HHS Sec. Bobby Kennedy just confirmed that in 2026, doctors will NOT be financially punished if their patients decline vaccines That includes religious objections.

In my mind it was always an atrocious upside-down development that doctors could and were financially or otherwise punished if their patients did not want to be vaccinated, and the doctor respected that wish or belief of his patient. You really need a totally twisted mindset to be against such state of affairs.

Note or maybe it's just one of those posters that by default provides a Thumbs Down on ANYTHING posted by members he don't agree with on most issues.
