"The perfect dictatorship would have the appearance of a democracy, but would basically be a prison without walls in which the prisoners would not even dream of escaping. It would essentially be a system of slavery where, through consumption and entertainment, the slaves would love their servitudes."

Best days were before mobile phones and the internet. Life was real. Kids these days will never know what freedom was like.

aldous huxley ... wow.

we've reached such a state of desperation that we need aldous huxley to guide us through the dark times.

what else are we meant to be doing besides consuming and seeking out entertainment?

High tech in our house was getting the first 13 inch colored TV and a six foot extension on the phone receiver seeing that the phone was mounted on the wall.  Granted, I did watch TV back then, Saturday morning cartoons especially, but after that I spent most of my day outside playing with friends, or swimming, fishing, archery, and a whole lot of bike riding.  I put a whole lot of miles on my bicycle as a kid.  Yeah - those were the days.  It was much simpler life and, imho, much more fulfilling.

Yes, and it seems misery loves company.

I'm a half full glass kind of guy, and if lucky, it might overflow.  Always trying to make that happen 😎
