This was long time ago, so I may not remember all details correctly, but I thought that he allegedly kicked her in the back, not the stomach.

Also, I don't remember any report that she was pregnant at the time.

agree, in all that we read, never a kick in the stomach and never that she was pregnant or married even.

The doctor was sitting on the stairs of his property.

Not quite.

First, it was a rental property (according to the press at the time).

Then, the steps were built illegally on beach land.

They have since been destroyed.

As  always, it seems that there is no 'black and white' in this situation.

Yeah - he had the stairs built - but they were on PUBLIC property (and supposedly were removed by the city afterwards).

And wasn't it recorded that he (and his wife) verbally abused the woman BEFORE kicking her ?

For the crime of sitting on "his" (illegaly built) steps.

In front of his million baht/month rented villa, where he lives while running an "elephant sanctuary" and acting like a mobster.

Kind of makes you wonder of the locals have even considered contacting the Swiss authorities to see if he's "known" to them.

I hope you are never victimised by a revengeful Thai for a minor assault. This case  already tried and dismissed by a previous court.

If a hi-so takes a foreigner to court over some minor issue that may have offended the person.....the foreigner will not win. This case is an example....and Mr Swiss will not be allowed to win!

A  Lawyer told me exactly that... it seems the whole of the legal system  is Bent / Racist

I'm sure prior to the kick most locals didn't care in the slightest what he did, as long as it didn't affect them.

She was not pregnant. This was a minor assault at the most.

The knives are out for the Swiss guy.

Don't gloat this could happen to any Foreigner here.

Exactly, case dismissed by Thai Court, rich Thai loses face,.

I would have thought that his lawyer could have appeared for this appeal hearing.  For no one to show is stupid and disrespectful towards the court.  I wonder what his lawyers advice was on this hearing.... 🙄

Yes, you do that. It good for you. It will teach you that you cannot come to Thailand and kick the locals on a part of a public beach area. That´s also why they are pursuing the case. If you on the other hand behave respectful and show kindness and love for the country you live in, you have nothing to fear.

Gottfrid the righteous,

in the eyes of Gottfrid everyone is guilty until proven guilty

Does it not ever occur to you sometimes a miscarriage has taken place
