Dentist for sleep apnea oral appliance (mouthpieces).

Featured Replies

I was diagnosed with sleep apnea but couldn’t get used to the CPAP machine. The doctor recommended to try a mouthpiece instead.

The hospital has its own dentist on site who would charge 50,000 Baht for the mouthpiece. Apparently my company’s insurance doesn’t cover this.

Can you recommend any dentists in Bangkok who specialize in this?

No, I can't, but I know that some boil-and-bite devices are excellent and cost a tenth of this amount.

That’s not the same type of mouthpiece that’s used for sleep apnea. It’s probably a mouth guard for people who bite and scratch with their teeth during sleep.

Of course it is. It's called a MAD for Mandibular Advancement Device.

Ah, great. What dentist does it for that cheap? I couldn’t find any for less than 30-50k.

The type I am talking about ("boil-and-bite") is not custom-made at the dentist's. You do the adjustment to your jaw and the titration yourself. However some of them are excellent and practically as good as the ones that are custom-made, for a fraction of the price.

Thanks for the additional info, but this is a must for me.
