A manhunt is underway after a father and son duo allegedly stole a Samsung Watch Ultra worth 23,900 baht from a major shopping centre in Phuket. Authorities have urged the culprits to return the stolen property immediately or face full legal action.

Reports emerged on 28 April that CCTV footage, shared on the “Phuket News Hawk V.2” Facebook page, captured the incident. The footage shows a man wearing a patterned black T-shirt and a child in a red shirt examining the Samsung Watch Ultra at the True Shop in Central Phuket. When staff were momentarily absent, the man allegedly seized the opportunity to steal the watch and swiftly left the store.

According to the post, at approximately 16:14, the man was seen browsing the watches, and by 16:16 he had removed the store’s display model, a Samsung Watch Ultra valued at 23,900 baht and exited.

The company has filed a police report and issued a public plea: if anyone recognises the individuals in the footage or if the perpetrators themselves realise their actions, they are urged to return the stolen item immediately. Failure to do so will result in full legal proceedings.

The incident has sparked widespread reaction online, with many netizens commenting on the boldness of the theft. Comments included: “How can they not realise there are CCTV cameras everywhere nowadays?” and “There are more CCTV cameras in Thailand than police, they must have known they would be caught on film.”
