Are most things made in China these days, or at least assembled there? Most people have no idea just how much of the stuff they buy (whatever it may be). Also, some motorcycles manufactured in China might be sold under different, potentially more familiar, brand names in specific markets. And how many genuine and aftermarket parts and accessories come out of China?
I doubt most people spending just 35K on a beautiful secondhand, customized motorcycle are worried about depreciation a few years down the road.
What on earth have you got against backpackers? They definitely add to certain segments of the economy, and if they have a good experience, they’re likely to return later in life when they have more money to spend, so it’s an investment. Plus, they are better behaved and more respectful than your average drunken sex tourist in Pattaya or Phuket.
Sure, I’m in my sixties have my grumpy moments, but I remember how great it was to be young and free-spirited and have the whole world in front of me -- everyone should have that experience. Lighten up!
I believe your passport will suffice.
As an example, those arriving at the airport and completing the TDAC at the kiosks provided there will have no means to print anything out, ergo a printout is not required by immigration. Presumably it's linked to their computers and will show up when they scan your passport or it's just hot air and won't be used for anything like the old TM6.
