How Can I Tell if I Have a "Non Imm-O Visa" or "Non Imm-O-A Visa"

Featured Replies

At my local immigration office I just changed from a visa based on supporting a Thai Child to a Retirement Visa based on having 800K in the bank. So, this means I have a "Non Imm O Visa", and NOT a "Non Imm O-A visa" - correct? How can I tell? Is it different in my passport? I am trying to determine if I need Thai health insurance. TIA

You previously most likely had a Non O.

Subsequently you have been obtaining extensions based on support Thai child.

You were NOT extending your Non O you were extending your permission of stay.

You have now changed what the extension is based on to retirement.

Surely you would recall if you previously had obtained a Non O-A.

It would be obtained in your passport country and have a host of extra requirements such as a medical, police clearance etc

Edit: from your other recent thread here you obtained an extension based on retirement.

Note insurance was not required.

In other words you do not have a Non O-A.

Thanks for the quick response. I did NOT obtain anything in my passport country, so I must have a Non-O.

Can you not just look at the original VISA sticker/stamp in your passport to see if it's an "O" or a "O-A" ?

The OP does not have the passport with original visa stamp.

In any event it's clear that he had a Non O and doing extensions based on retirement.

would that visa information not be on the 1st page of the new passport,

i think the op is confusing  a visa and an extension of permission to stay., done by many posters
