Nonsense of course there is only one Sizzler in Sydney it is called tandoori Sizzler which is Indian.

Tandoori Sizzler

Maybe the parent wanted to convert the Sizzler chain to cash to engage in another business activity where they strongly anticipate better returns for the capital invested.

I live in the West now, and we don't have many 7/11 stores in our city. Even Sizzlers closed all its stores in 2020. Why are they still around in Thailand?

Is Australia considered a western country?

Each 7/11 is a franchise shop in its own right. But having said that, prices will nearly always be the same but stock will vary from shop to shop.

I think only about half are franchises.

Some,  if close together are under the same franchise management. Had that in Bang Saphan Noi where 3 were under that arrangement.

Logic tells me yes. For example, a prepacked fresh cheese and ham sandwich will have the same barcode at check out whether in Pattaya, Phuket, Bangkok, Chiang Mai or Khon Kaen.

I may be wrong.

The barcode is primarily for stock recording and ordering.  This doesn't preclude the opportunity for different shops to have different prices at the till for the same barcode.

In the UK all the supermarkets have regional pricing, and the small convenience format shops, e.g. Tesco Express, always have a price premium compared to the larger format shops.

I think CP owns and operates about half the 7-11s in Thailand. The other half are franchises, that CP sells.
