Short Trip BKK-Vietnam

Featured Replies

Any UK citizens travelled recently to Vietnam for one week, is an e visa or travel card needed..TIA

We were denied boarding a flight 2 weeks ago to Hanoi from BK because they said we HAD to have an e-visa first. We're Americans
just an FYI for however.

Thanks for the heads up, I think US citizens do require one but some euro countries since March don't..

UK passports have been exempt for some years. When I went in 2019 got 15 days but last year it was 45.

My friend from Belfast travels on an Irish passport and he had to get evisa.

Where an entry requirement exists, it has always been that a visa or letter of approval was issued prior to boarding. Think the letters were discontinued with the introduction of the evisa.

Cheers, yes 45 days..thanks for help

We were there a couple of weeks ago, no visa required but be prepared for long queues at immigration then your baggage scanned when you leave the airport as well meaning another queue.

Thanks, no rush though

I flew BKK to Da Nang last week on a British passport.  No issues, no need for any prior submissions, just presented my passport to the immigration official and was stamped through within 20 seconds.  Very efficient.
