Report Father's Furious Kick at Kindergarten Sparks Outrage

In a shocking incident at a kindergarten in Trang, a father kicked a six-year-old boy in the head on May 15. The attack followed a playground scuffle that left the man's son with a scratch. The father claims it was unintentional, despite video evidence catching the moment.

 

The disturbing footage, posted on May 17 by Twitter user Mr.Hap, shows the boy standing with his mother. Suddenly, the father, angry about his child’s minor injury, lunges forward and kicks the young boy, leaving witnesses stunned. The school, fearing reputational damage, reportedly urged the victim's family to forgive the attacker, a claim they have denied.

 

Public reaction online is mixed. Some argue the attacker’s child might have been a target of repeated bullying, while others condemn the violent response, insisting parents should de-escalate child conflicts.

 

The victim’s mother reported that although her son's physical injuries were minor, the emotional impact was severe. He now suffers from nightmares and reluctance to attend school, fearing men who resemble his attacker.

Determined to see justice, the boy’s family has filed reports with local police. The incident has been a wake-up call for the school, which has tightened security measures, now prohibiting parents from entering the premises during drop-off and pick-up times.

 

They've also engaged psychological support for both the victim and his family, contrary to allegations of pressure to drop charges.

 

Authorities have charged the father under Section 295 of the Criminal Law for causing mental and physical harm, a charge that could lead to a two-year prison sentence, a 40,000 baht fine, or both.

 

Despite undeniable video evidence, the accused remains defiant, denying all accusations.

 

This case highlights pressing concerns over parental conduct and the importance of improving safety protocols in schools to prevent such distressing incidents.

A daily occurrence, someone kicking another in the head, thinking they're all Muay Thai fighters, when it's actually a coward that can't fight and needs to kick, especially when one isn't looking or is down on the ground. This is much worse. An adult coward kicking a little boy from behind. If he isn't jailed for a good time, it will again show what goes on here. I understand bullying and it needed to be stopped, but this isn't the way.

Sometimes, one wish to be at the same place when something like this happens. However, that would also be bad, as one would show the same lack of restraint as the father just did. This is a typical example of a father that should be removed as far as possible from any children. He should also be stripped of his parental rights and the title father, as he can´t live up to the expectations of of a person with that title. After that jailed for a very long time. This is a person that totally lack any kind of self-control. Most likely he is also same in home against the whole family, so they also always have to walk on their toes and be careful so he don´t lose his temper. A disgusting piece of human garbage.

I always get mad as i read it was unintentional.... WTF... you don't do even not threat of such a movement.. But the Thai brains are very different from normal people, and justice is only to satisfy everybody.. always excuses but no real punishments, so nothing will be solved.

Thailand has a high rate of incarceration and the jails are not hotel like as they are in the west.

Yes, because , unlike you, this man knows what goes on outside my village, and has actually lived in the US for 62 years. Anyone kicking someone in the head is a coward. That statement there shows everything about how your mind works. A bully is to be dealt with by authorities and their parents, but seeing bullies learn to bully at home, it's the parent's fault first, so then the authorities need to take action. A man kicking a boy is a cowardly scumbag that deserves what he gets, hopefully from the boy's father.

Kicking is done mostly in countries where martial arts are used, by people who think they can fight but use kicking in  non martial art ways because they're afraid of using their hands. Kicking people on the ground and ganging up 5 against 1 isn't happening everywhere besides gang warfare. I lived in the US 62 years and never saw this behavior, but it happens daily here.

Nonsense. This cowardly man attacked a small boy with a flying kick. This called for his immediate arrest and prosecution for grievous bodily harm. The correct way is to go to the parents of the boy to sort the problem out.

There is something seriously wrong with these people.  Day in and day out, acts of violence against the young the old, mothers/fathers other relatives, basically anyone is commonplace here.  No respect for life or the law and something that is not routinely seen in other countries.  Hardly lives up to the name Land of Smiles which is a misnomer to begin with.

Kicking children in the head is not a daily occurrence. This is an outlier, not a norm.

Yea indeed, but what is in these cells?? drugsaddicted, dealers and some murderers.. and people who have stolen something or for section 112 violation.. But that is not what I mean. Thailand throws everybody in jail, the easiest way to get rid of problems.. But many times you read that stepfathers/mothers grandfathers uncles and aunts fathers and mothers are abusing kids in all thinkable ways or even killed.. and what will happen to it?? nothing... Throw in the cell and the problem is solved, but you need decent education, rehability programs, safe houses for kids and justice that condemns these practices... Some while ago we could read that a kid was abandoned in a house for months untill a neighbour told someone...How many more are there??Kids beaten, abused, living alone here.... and the Government too busy instead of investing in decent education of parents, create institutions for kids safety, etc...

So you think that it is ok for an adult to deliver a flying kick to a 6yo child's head?

This is unforgivable from the school "The school, fearing reputational damage, reportedly urged the victim's family to forgive the attacker, a claim they have denied" if it is true and from history I would say the attack on the child most likely is true. This attitude of 'it makes the school look bad' has to stop

If I was the father of the boy who got kicked that guy would be in a world of hurt for sure.
