A late-night car fire left a Honda Jazz completely destroyed on Phetkasem Road in Hua Hin, Prachuap Khiri Khan province. The incident took place on May 20 when a 41-year-old woman from Pran Buri district, while driving home, noticed smoke and flames emanating from her vehicle. Fortunately, she managed to exit the car without injury.

Alerted by the emergency, police and fire services arrived at the scene, opposite Patravadi Hua Hin School in the Nong Kae subdistrict. Firefighters from the Hua Hin municipality along with local police worked for over 30 minutes to extinguish the blaze, but the car was already beyond salvage.

The driver, identified as Banjong, shared that she first observed unusual lights on the dashboard and smelled something burning. Upon reaching the Nong Kae overpass, she wisely pulled over and found smoke rising from the engine, prompting her to quickly evacuate the vehicle and alert authorities.

Investigation by officials suggested that intense heat under the bonnet had caused a petrol tank leak, which led to the fire. Firefighters worked diligently to continuously soak the vehicle with water until the flammable petrol was fully consumed, eventually quelling the flames.

The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation, with authorities looking into what might have triggered such a sudden and intense blaze. Meanwhile, Banjong's quick action in pulling over and exiting the vehicle likely prevented a more dangerous situation, highlighting the importance of acting swiftly in such emergencies.

As an enthusiastic Honda Jazz owner myself—I especially love its wide front view—I'm aware that fire-related issues have occurred with these vehicles in the past. However, this particular incident doesn’t seem to fall into that category. It does make me wonder how regularly the car was serviced at the Honda dealership—interestingly located along Phetkasem Road.

Another important consideration is where the vehicle was typically parked. Whenever possible, it's best to park in a garage, carport, or at least away from dense vegetation or open fields. If using a garage, make sure there are no gaps or entry points where rodents or lizards could sneak in to chew on hoses or wiring—or worse, nest under the hood.
