I initiated a transfer from my balance in my Wise account to my Bangkok bank account yesterday afternoon, local time. It said 'by Tuesday'. Around 8:45 AM this morning, Wise emailed to say they had just sent the money and I should see it around 14:00, local time.

This is from my Wise account to my Bangkok bank account registered with Wise that has previously taken a few seconds. My Bangkok bank account is compliant with the bank's updated, registered phone number policy.

Not sure why Wise now appears to have a minimum 8-hour transfer time, and it appears it waits more than 8 hours from initialising on their app to actually doing the transfer. I don't send great amounts of money, usually about £1000 two or three times a month.

Was there a reason for transfer? I hear not any more, 2pm for Bangkok Bank maybe the new normal for all transfers

Makes me wonder who was Wise's partner bank for @NanLaew's previously instant transfers - Bangkok Bank themselves or Kasikorn? My understanding (and, indeed, personal experience) has been that instant transfers are only possible where the partner bank is Kasikorn. So might it be the case that Kasikorn aren't a Wise partner bank any longer (in which case the default partner bank option for his transfers is presumably now Bangkok Bank and their 14:00 payment time)?

Bangkok Bank could be instant if it wasn't to be classed as International, that may have changed very recently though hence my question. There is a new funding intermediary replacing Kasikorn, Wanglo or something like that

Wise still offers the same drop-down menu for the reason. I have used either 'personal expenses' or 'for family' on the previous, instantaneous transfers.

It may be the case, and it seems that Wise now offers 'within 8 hours' or 'next day' for Bangkok bank, depending on what time of the day the transfer is initiated.

For info, the transfer I mentioned earlier posted here at 14:01 local time (Bangkok bank push notification), with Wise saying it was 14:13 (in their app). Looking at the previous push notification from Bangkok bank, international deposits have been flagged 'from MOBILE' (both Wise and SWIFT), whereas the one that took longer today says 'from AUTO'.

I will go online and see if the coding or description of the deposits has changed. That could indicate a shift in local intermediary, or maybe not.

Yesterday's transfer Wise to Krungsri:

Your money got there in just seconds. Now that's what we call maximum ease at full speed.
Need a receipt? You can download it from your Wise account. If not, here's a recap:

This transfer from Wise to Krungsri went through the Global Pay channel with no mention of KBank as previously.

What Thai Bank? My understanding is recently Wise will no longer transfer to some Thai banks.

I did not get far enough to choose a bank to send to.   WISE would not accept either my U.S. bank debit card or my U.S. credit card.

Wise does not accept all US-issued debit nor credit cards, and it has made recent changes to how card transactions are processed in the US. This may have impacted your attempts to use such a card. You may wish to search the web on Wise support for those institutions, or simply contact Wise. It could be your US financial institutions are not supported any more.

I seriously wonder whether that might lie at the heart of the difficulties which a fair few on here have been experiencing recently with their Wise transfers. Presumably Wise's partners in Thailand these days are now only Bangkok Bank and Tranglo*?

https://www.tranglo.com/

EDIT - although I see that @anchadian has also referred to the Global Pay channel, whoever or whatever that might be.

Note this link:  https://wise.com/help/articles/2556723/how-to-pay-by-card

where it states:

"  We currently can’t accept payments from: US-issued cards, if the address on your Wise account is outside the US, and if you're paying with a Visa card "

.... so in my reading that, I wonder if that is applicable to you?

nope not yet, it’s under investigation with wise and they get back to me in approximately 5 days as said in their email

just an update, Wise is still looking into it and the money, 10.000 Thb still hasn’t landed in my account

I'll add my recent experience.  I sent USA bank account to my Bangkok bank account 33,000 baht a week ago.  Wise said it would arrive after midnight here, or after 2PM BKK time the next day.  That was actually almost 24 hours since I initiated the transfer maybe after 1:00 here.  Arrived as expected.

Today I was transferring about 19,500 baht at about 11AM Bangkok time, and it said it would arrive next Tuesday here.  That's about 5 days away.

I came here, and saw the threads and cancelled it.  Was wondering if I would have to try another service, but thought if they're using a different method to send to other banks, maybe that would be better.  Tried to send USA bank to my Kasikorn account and it said it would arrive instantly.  I screenshot that and hoped it would be so.  Ended up being basically instantly after I hit the button.

In the case of my successful transfer last week it said the Paid Out From Banking Partner was Bangkok Bank.  On the successful transfer to Kasikorn the Banking Partner is Kasikornbank.

I do not know if they were using that other company for the attempted transfer to Bangkok Bank, but that wait time was ridiculous.  2PM Bangkok time the next day wouldn't be too crazy as long as it were reliable.  But 5 days was not only past the exchange rate guarantee time, but just unreasonably long.

When I logged on my computer to cancel I noticed there was a message on my account which was asking when the transfer last week arrived.  Date and time.  So they appear to be monitoring how long they are taking.

Computers sleep on public/bank holidays 🤣 (Mon June 2nd and Tue June 3rd). Maybe Tue 3rd is not a bank holiday.

Yes, they always ask that.  This time the message was:

"Did we time that right?"

And instead of a generic 1 to 10 rating and box to type in how they can improve, it goes to a web page that says this, except with the transaction number already filed in:

According to the BOT website both 2nd and 3rd June are now bank holidays.

I would suspect that the info given to the other poster is incorrect and that any transfer will be received on 4th June. But, who knows....
