Pathum Thani Immigration - 60 day ext. (married) after Visa Exemption entry (60 days)

Featured Replies

Today Pathum Thani immigration: Prepared all documents for a 30 day extension after I came back from Vietnam early April and get the 60 day visa exemption (ending early June).

When the staff saw the housebook of my wife, her ID card and her in person, I was told that they do no 30 days extensions anymore if you're married to a Thai national. I have to apply for 60 days like I do if based on a Non-O.

I had only a recent Korror-2 with me, not the (colourful) marriage certificate (is this the Korror-3? Not sure at the moment). Anyway, this was ok and everything went smoothly!

Bit of a similar story here

Don't know why immigration would not give you the 30.

Anyway you obtained 60 days "to visit wife"

All good.

They told my wife something like "to difficult...". So it seems a little bit like the made their own rule. But as you said "all good" as I'm going back to Germany for some month at the end of June.

In the past - and possibly ongoing at some offices, one can get the 30-day extension from a tourist entry (TR-Visa or Visa-Exempt), then the 60-day extension after this.  Policy varies by office, however - some refusing to follow their own long-existent policies, now.
