Steady Eddie - Mea Culpa

Featured Replies

I'm very happy to withdraw my post from a few weeks ago where I reported that Steady Eddie had recently died.  Based on the most recent YT video, this was obviously not true!  I'm happy to admit my mistake and wish Steady Eddie all the best 🙂

Those videos chronically people dying are too sad to watch. This guy is in hospice waiting for the end now and giving updates on his slow demise. Very depressing stuff.

I guess it depends on your view of our destiny, and your religion (or none).  We all have to go some time and it's good that Eddie is in a hospice/care home where he can receive medication to alleviate any pain (if indeed he has pain).  Much worse if you are in a place without palliative care 😞

sure just sad to see the guy go downhill and ultimately die, which isn't far off now it seems.

I fully agree with that........but I don't think we need to watch it.

Good luck to the fella for a comfortable conclusion to his life.

His brain (not that there was much there to begin with) is in shutdown mode. I give it a few months at most.

I haven't watched any of his videos, too many youtubers already but sad he had to go back to the UK

When it's your turn, I wonder what you'd think if someone made such a comment about you?  If you have nothing positive to say, SAY NOTHING!

I'm just curious why people enjoy watching others die slowly?
What's the psychology behind it?

Do you mean watching these videos?  I don't seek out videos of people dying.  I watch those about Eddie to see how well he is doing at staying alive!  Despite his terminal prognosis, he seems to be giving a good battle to stay with us, and with a sense of humour as well.  He seems to be a very honest, down-to-earth chap.

Really cool and exclusive high end scenarios = "that could be me factor".

Human tragedy and terrible life situations = "thank god that isn't me factor".

I have watched a few of Eddy's videos and wish him all the best. A true old school Brit; makes the most of things and gets on with it. All the best Eddy!

These places are depressing. Pain relief or not. They NEVER give you enough pain relief.

Well, it depends on whether you are in pain or not.  Not everyone who is dying is in pain. My young niece who died in my arms 3 years ago died of TB, but she just faded away, no pain , no nasty symptoms, just got weaker and died peacefully.  Apart from the TB medication (which was given too late to help her), she had no other medication and needed none.  Eddie doesn't seem to be suffering with pain, I hope he has a peaceful passing and his videos no doubt will help others to come to terms with the inevitable.
