No he killed himself due to depression. The other woman can do what she likes. He doesnt own her.

  • The point being the leftist media has it out for males, the white ones mostly. Very sad, he was obviously a good person. People deserve to know the truth

I don't know what your obsession with this is, but it's definitely not healthy.

Exactly. This isn't healthy at all. Some posters show clear signs of mental health issues. This topic is about a deeply troubled man who killed himself, and his girlfriend's actions may or may not have been a factor in this. But we don't know that for sure and never will, yet the amount of hate this woman (and let's be honest, women in general) gets in this thread is "howling-at-the-moon" level.

@Cameroni, get help.

So what? Argento knew she had caused Bourdain's death. The texts prove it. Then she gives an intereview and pretends as if she doesn't know why he killed himself. This is not repulsive to you? You have no sense of justice?

Really?  How was he supposed to know she would cheat on him?

Argento just fulfilled his archetype, Bourdain had the archetype of the Italian woman with a strong personality. She just fulfilled his archetype of attraction. But he had no way of knowing she would cheat on him.

Bourdain was stupid for jumping on the Me-Too bandwagon because of Argento. He mouthed off about Me Too constantly, only to find out that Argento herself had committed statuory rape with a 17 year old boy. Then he had to pay off that boy secretly. Argento made a fool out of him. That was stupid. Yes. But if a woman is attractive and you fall in love with her, how could Bourdain know she would cheat on him?

He killed himself. She did nothing. You must really hate women.

First of all there is causation. Causation here is clear and immediate, just before his death Bourdain discovered the photos of Argento cheating with Hugo Clement in one of the hotels Argento and Bourdain had fond memories. in.. Just before his death he texted Argento "You were reckless with my heart. With my life", he texted trying to get her to apologise and to see how hurt he was, to fix the relationship. Argento refused and told him she wants to end the relationship. There were phone calls and shouting matches. Just before he committed suicide. So the cause, the responsibility here is very clear. Argento's cheating was the cause, and she bears responsibility for what happened.

As for Bourdain's role, Bourdain fell in love with a woman who fulfilled his archetype of attraction. He was deceived into thinking she was  a wonderful woman, Argento never showed her real side before this. How could he know she would cheat on him? He couldn't. Bourdain's role was to provide constant moral support for Argento, even when she falsely accused Weinstein of rape, he became a public mouthpiece for Me-Too. Even when it came out that Argento herself committed statutory rape, he paid off her accuser with a lot of money, even though it made him look totally foolish. He took steroids to maximise muscle mass in his body because he was over 60 and Argento was much younger. Bourdain suppported Argento with a lot of money. He constantly posted on social media how much he loved her. When his long time camera man disagreed with Argento he fired him. Bourdain had pushed Argento to direct his episodes, to star in his series, he supported her professionally.

So Bourdain's role, was one of total support, love and care. So does he bear responsibility? No. Not even for choosing an evil woman, because he could not know she was evil. How was he to know she was evil? He couldn't.

Sadly, because women's power is to deceive men, yes, we have all gone through this. However, some men are more susceptible to depression than others. Bourdain had taken heroin, LSD and many other substances, his susceptibility to depression was slightly higher than the average man.

And when it happened to us, were we 61, with a failed marriage behind us, did we pay off a 17 year old boy who said our gf statutorily raped him with over 300,000 USD? Did we fire one of our best friends and camera men to protect the girl who betrayed us? Did we get her involved in our business, directing our Tv Series? Did we take steroids to ensure our body was to her liking? No. Bourdain had gone all out with Argento, and he most likely saw her as his last chance for happiness at 61.

Well, because some was to blame. The truth is the truth. This was not a "tragic event", this was an evil, deceptive woman, cheating with another man, on a man who had supported her publicly, paid off her rape victim to slience him, put her on his TV show. She hounded Bourdain into suicide, and causation here is very clear.

We have to strongly condemn Argento's actions, because if we just shrug our shoulders and say "Meh, women can cheat, it's okay", if we do not censure this, guess what, it will become the norm. Because with social media, women have never had such chances to cheat, it is a new world. We need to defend ourselves against evil women.

"Cheating" is common and not the cause otherwise millions would kill themselves.

No, it's absurd to ignore causation. Here we clearly have texts between Bourdain and Argento about her cheating, about her ending the relationship with him, JUST BEFORE he killed himself. It would be absurd to deny Argento's actions caused his suicide.

And Bourdain was not "struggling with mental health at the time". He was filming and workign with close friends, who all said he was very normal, apart from the shouting phone calls with Argento. His substance abuse was decades ago. When the autopsy was done it showed no trace of illegal substances whatsoever.

We know exactly the dynamic of their relationship, Bourdain was the adorer, he constantly posted about how much he respected and loved her, paid off her statutory rape accuser, put her in his TV series. She was using him. And then she was abusing him, by cheating on him, in a hotel they both had fond memories in.  Something which it is very clear from the texts Bourdain had not agreed to.

The dynamic was she was a cheating, evil deceiver, who made Bourdain believe she was something she was not. She was a liar and a cheater. And she directly and immediately caused his death.

Total garbage, we have tons of evidence  what happened in their relationship, we even have their last texts made public now. Whcih clearly show Argento cheated, and theirs was not an "open" relationship, clearly Bourdain was wounded by the betrayal. We know she ended the relationship, claiming she was the victim, when she was the one who cheated on him.

Obviously I am not condemning Argento because "she is a woman", but because she caused Bourdain's death, as Bourdain killed himself due to her cheating, due to her betrayal.

You seem to have a White Knight complex, though why anyone would defend a cheating, lying, deceiving, betraying skank like Argento, only you will know.

He no doubt saw Argento for what she really was, an idiot, fornicating, disloyal street dog, and it was a total shock to his system. When I think about it, I do feel sorry for Bourdain.

But you're absolutely right, you always have to take the high ground. That is the way to handle it. You should not lose yourself.

This is about you, isn't it?

You want to have your cake and eat it too.

Your women cheat on you, but you are also a cheat.

They were both married.

“I hate my fans, too. I hate being famous. I hate my job,” Bourdain wrote to his estranged wife Ottavia Busia-Bourdain, with whom he remained a close confidant even after their separation in 2016. “I am lonely and living in constant uncertainty.”

Leerhsen’s book chronicles the couple’s turbulent relationship, with both sides expressing displeasure at social media photos that depicted each with another partner: Bourdain spending time with his estranged wife and daughter, and Argento dancing with a French reporter in the lobby of Rome’s Hotel de Russie.

If you go in search of excitement, one should understand that there are caveats that go with the territory.

The man needs to create a safe and stable environment. He needs to sow the seeds for that.

If not, be prepared for loneliness and instability.

Yes, I'm talking to you. 😊

His girlfriend's actions "may or may not" have been a factor in his death? You have got to be joking. So he just happened to have a major shouting match with Argento, repeatedly on the phone. He just happened to write  texts to Argento JUST BEFORE HE DIED saying "You were reckless with my heart. With my life" "Is there anything I can do"...pleading to save the relationship, which ended in the texts. This, which all happened JUST BEFORE his suicide, had no causative effect on Bourdain committing suicide? Are you for real?

Though this does add to the story, there has to be much more to it, this was an incredible man who had so much going for him, and when things don't work out with a woman you just simply have to man up and walk away.

So why he didn't have that within himself is part of the mystery.

I suspect because he was 61, he had a failed marriage behind him and he saw Argento as his last chance for true happiness. Because she fulfilled his archetype of attraction, the Italian strong character woman.

Not only that, he poured his whole life into Argento, took steroids to look more muscular for her, paid off her statutory rape accuser to the tune of over 300,000 USD, fired his long term collaborator when he disagreed with Argento, pushed Argento to direct his TV series and to star in them, he constantly emotionally supported her over instagram publicly.

When she then cheated on him publicly with Hugo Clement, it must have been devastating. A real public humiliation for him, her great champion. She not only cheated on him and betrayed him. She publicly lmade a fool out of him and humiliated .him.

Just for your accusations, a mental challenged person, who struggles with depression, act normal to most people, especially coworkers and socially.

Suicide is the most extreme action a human can do, and I'm 100% sure it is not just because of a broken relationship.

Sorry, but that's clearly preposterous. We now have clear evidence what transpired just before Bourdain's death. The texts prove that Bourdain was trying to save their relationship, that he was distraught over her cheating with Hugo Clement in a hotel they had both shared fond memories in, and he was deeply hurt. The texts prove that she replied in the most callous and base manner, and ended the relationship. None of which he agreed to.

All this happened just before he took his own life. It is very clear what trauma he went through and what caused his death, precisely the break up of his relationship with Argento in the most painful way.

To claim all this happened just before his suicide and there is no causative effect here, is simply ludicrous.

Any man who kills himself over a woman is a fool IMO. Especially a butch, tatted up, cheat like her.

Just go to the pub, have a steak and a few beers and then get another one. He had so much to live for, rich, famous, successful, loved by many. Why end it all for that

depressed, steroids, drugs checking AI

Which clearly shows a man who struggled.

AI-

While there's no definitive public record of Anthony Bourdain being diagnosed with bipolar disorder, he was open about his struggles with mental health, specifically substance use disorders and depression, according to an article published in the American Journal of Psychiatry Residents' Journal. He discussed his past struggles with cocaine, heroin, LSD, alcohol, and tobacco. Additionally, Bourdain talked about his depression and sought therapy, according to the article.

While he did not publicly disclose a bipolar disorder diagnosis, his struggles with substance abuse and depression, along with the emotional toll his career and personal life took, could have contributed to a difficult mental health journey. He was 61. He had a failed marriage behind him. Him taking steroids to increase muscle mass shows he was aware his body was growing old. Too old for the kind of woman he wanted. And when he found Argento, he fell madly in love with her. He most likely spent millions of Dollars on her, he publicly supported her on social media, he paid off her statutory rape accuser, so when she cheated on him, it was not just a betrayal by the woman he loved, but a very public humiliation for him.

Since he was unable to revive the relationship he knew no way out. Men, all their life are taught that they have to sacrifice. Even to sacrifice their lives. For women.  So this is what Bourdain did. Perhaps, he saw it as the ultimate fulfillment of his love, to sacrifice his life for her, as Werther did in Goethe's novel.

Exactly!

And that was the cause of Bourdain's depression and trauma. The cheating by Argento and the break up of the relationsihp.

The autopsy revealed no illegal substances whatsoever. His past demons of substance abuse, his previous depressions, were in the past. His colleagues who worked with him said he appeared very normal and in good spirits.

The only thing that caused his depression - Argento cheating and ending the relationship.

She was a causative factor in his death.

Perhaps.

But still a very stupid and incredibly selfish thing to do. It can take those left behind years to recover, some may never recover.

Go on a massive bender, buy a Ferrari, take a trip to Pattaya, whatever floats your boat. But never consider killing yourself over a woman. Especially when you have an 11 year old daughter. Suck it up, take one for team for god's sake.

Incredibly stupid. He had a daugther after all, yes. And to throw your life away over a woman like Argento, who, let's face it, is not worth the dirt on Bourdain's shoes, it's even more fantastically stupid.

However, I don't think rationality came into it. What we have is a case of emotions. Emotional turmoil. Unfortunately Argento fulfilled his attraction archetype, the strong character Italian woman, and she proceeded to deceive Bourdain that she was a good woman. His first hint should have been when she accused Weinstein of rape, and it then came out that she herself had raped a teenage boy. But Bourdain just continued to spout Me Too tropes and paid off her accuser.

Nothing she could have done could have "woken him up", he was emotionally gone, love  is like a mental illness. Even when she cheated on him and told him to go to hell, he still wanted to prove his love to her, by sacrificing the ultimate, his most precious, his life.

Stupid, yes. But incredibly heart-breaking. Cheating can kill, if done by a woman that you truly love.

You make a very reasonable point. And you are likely correct about the humiliation. And being an ex addict that could have made it worse.

I just can't relate to a guy who had so much going for him, was so well loved, and had so much success and wealth, just ending it for any woman. But, emotions can be a bizarre force.

The person I feel bad for is Arianne Bourdain, his daughter.  When Bourdain took his life she was 9 years old. As a toddler she was sometimes featured on his show.  .  He had a classic episode that featured the food in Chiang Mai. I miss his sarcastic sense of humor.

I think you're  right, where emotions are involved rational thinking takes a leave of absence.

Yes, he had success and wealth for so many decades, but if you ask a fish about water they would not know it is even there. Same with fame, wealth and success for Bourdain, he swam in it so long, I suppose it lost any meaning for him, it was just there.

His next real challenge was to build a meaningful relationship with a true love, and a, to him, attractive woman. He did everything in his power to achieve that, constantly supported her, emotionally and financially, publicly, that was his real goal, happiness with her.

Alas, her cheating and attitude, and ultimately her ending the relationship, made that impossible. So perhaps he saw his life as a failure then, because she had become his life, being happy with her was his main goal. When this goal became unattainable, when the possibility to achieve it was taken away, it must have been devastating.

Her cheating, and callous communications with Bourdain, just before his death, clearly prove that Argento's actions were a causative factor in Bourdain's death.

To say "she did nothing, when her cruel texts are now plain for all to see, her cheating is referred to by Bourdain in his last texts when he was alive, he can be seen pleading, unsuccessfully to revive the relationship and Argento refused, to say, with all of this mountain of evdince "she did nothing", is frankly ludicrous.
