A Chinese-run office in central Pattaya, suspected of being involved in large-scale real estate transactions for foreign nationals, was raided during the morning of 26 May, by police from Region 2 Provincial Police Bureau.

At around 10:00, Pol Maj Gen Teerachai Chamnarnmor, Chief of the Investigation Division of Region 2 Police, along with Pol Col Naratchapong Udomsri and a team of officers, executed a search warrant on a commercial property located in Moo 10, Pattaya.

The premises, four adjoining three storey shop houses, were being used as office space for a company allegedly brokering real estate deals for foreign clients, primarily Chinese nationals. Inside, officers discovered several Thai and Chinese employees at work and approximately 30 Chinese customers waiting for service. Sixteen of the employees were identified as Chinese nationals.

Preliminary questioning of the building manager revealed that the office operates as a consultancy service for Chinese buyers interested in purchasing homes, land and condominiums in Pattaya. The company reportedly acts as an intermediary in real estate transactions on behalf of Chinese clients.

Authorities separated staff from customers and instructed all involved parties to present relevant documentation for further inspection. Investigators are currently examining whether any laws have been violated, particularly regarding work permits, business licensing and compliance with foreign ownership regulations.

If clear legal infractions are uncovered, those responsible will face prosecution under the law.

Police have not released the name of the company pending further investigation.

They only want the money it brings in, not the people.
