I'm just looking for some pointers

Featured Replies

I have 3 cars all ICE (one has LPG too) All the cars are more than 15 years old (the gas one probably 30).

I think it maybe time to trade one in for an EV.

But where do I start:

Pure EV or Hybrid (I seldom do journeys in excess of 250 KM)

I do not need a large SUV just a small/medium car

I hear Chinese manufacturers are being very competitive - any pointers/inside info?

I will not buy TESLA

Any ideas appreciated

Agree with JB ...  BYD & MG (SAIC) have established, establishing country wide dealer networks.  Been at for decades, batteries, for themselves and other brands.

Geely is coming along nicely, also been at it a long time.  Geely having the Riddara RD6, (subsidiary, I think) first BEV truck for Thailand, and quite nice, as I peeked at one.  Didn't test drive.

I'm a pure EV (BEV) fan, have a MG (2.5 yrs now), and enjoying it.  Actually had the ICE version, so easy to decide which for us, especially since not much available then.  Our MG ZS and BYD's Atto 3 was about all (SUV), back then.  Daughter has an Atto 3, and very nice also.

ZS is supposedly being phased out, and a hybrid version coming.  It's replacement (?), S5 is quite nice.

MG has life time battery warrant for most models (except ZS & EP (?), so that's a major plus for nervous Nellies.   BYD having more than a few options.
