She made the choice for her life to be ruined. Would it make you happy if she had a suitcase full of illegal heroin?

Yes she made the choice but it would be better if that choice did not exist in Thailand...hence why weed shops should be banned and criminalised as befor. the untold damage that has been done to Thailand and the tourist industry is colossal just to keep a few potheads like you happy...don't worry, enjoy it while you can cos the next election will change it all..if not befor..peace dude😎

This is becoming absurd now.

It's clear there is some crime syndicate involved.

Thailand clearly has a problem at it's airports with detecting this sort of thing. How can you miss this volume ?

It's quite likely they didn't - you think that stop at Heathrow was random?

Absurd! When will the authorities in

disunited kingdom LEAVE WEED USERS ALONE. Get a job & get a life...

if you bothered to read the article, or were intelligent enough to understand it, you'd know she is being charged with drug smuggling, not possession

maybe you get a life and stop making judgemental, ill-informed comments.

how she did not get arrested at svb with that kind of weed lol

yes, they must be turning a blind eye to this.

Maybe they just don't want the problems that go with an arrest.

It makes security at Thailand's airport's look very bad.

Smoke and Mirrors.

Someones moving a lot of dope and give up these people so that they can feel good about making a bust.  The TSA isn't that smart. Heres your envelope, heres the name of the passenger.

Question, don't they have weed there ? Why would you need to import it ?

Why are weed users so paranoid and ultra protective about their sad dependent habit ?

"""The allure of easy money or ... free travel (??? )... often drives individuals into smuggling"""

Ya make your choice, and pay the price when caught.  For some reason it seems that 'Brits' lately have become the people of choice for smuggling into different countries.

Another life ruined through this madness of legalising weed in Thailand..of course all you dumb ass potheads will say there is nothing wrong with it...how many is that just this month ..ban weed, bena sensible caring country again instead of being the Hub for dopeheads...Almost 40 million tourists last year, If this carries on a few years will be down to just a few million of the worlds dopeheads..get a grip Thailand...ban weed!!!

Prohibition never works. Alcohol was prohibited the the USA a hundred years ago and all that happened was the Mob got richer and a few people died from bathtub gin.

Alcohol kills, so does tobacco, both are addictive - but both are legal in most countries. Cannabis doesn't kill but it's illegal in most countries and as with all illegal drugs, trade in it enriches criminals all over the world.

Legalise, tax, control.

PS Heroin/morpine used to be available in the UK on prescription; there were less than 2000 registered addicts who lived normal lives, like the author Enid Bagnold ( National Velvet) . Once it became illegal the number of addicts spiralled, many died from overdoses or infected injection sites and it became a major source of income for criminals. The IRA turned Dublin into the heroin capital of Europe to fund buying guns and explosives.

Let the Brits catch him / her if they want to, why would the Thais be concerned - legal purchase in Thailand and besides the Thai's are too busy looking for people trying to "smuggle" tourist Buddha statues out of the country.

Had no idea it was illegal in England. Seems like most all of Europe. Funny people think they can smuggled and not even check up on it. Well...

They are criminals and should be treated accordingly. It is quite obvious that you  do not understand the depth of depravity that dope fiends will partake  to get their "fix".               Don't be like Marty or Stan shown in the short film below.

They probably see it, and send the information to customs of destination of the flight. That way they don't need to deal with it and get smugglers arrested at the other end.

Saw a lot of that on Airport Security series... "acting on a tip"
