THAILAND – At the Thai Parliament on the evening of 29th May, Anutin Charnvirakul, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, firmly addressed recent speculation about potential political hiccups. Anutin made it clear that Paetongtarn Shinawatra is the official Prime Minister, dismissing any notion of a "standby" Prime Minister.

Responding to enquiries regarding the political landscape, Anutin chuckled about rumours of replacing the Interior Minister. These speculations, he noted, have been circulating since he first took office two years ago, highlighting ongoing interest in such a pivotal role.

Anutin reaffirmed the stability of the current administration, stressing that the government remains a coalition of willing parties committed to governing Thailand.

He emphasised a unified approach, sharing that a clear agreement was reached from day one among coalition partners, all backing the Prime Minister proposed by the lead party.

This collective effort extends from former PM Srettha Thavisin to Paetongtarn Shinawatra, ensuring adherence to agreed principles and decorum.

When questioned about potential threats to the government's tenure, Anutin decisively attributed such risks to disunity, which he insists is absent within the coalition.

He underscored a cooperative environment, bound by mutual respect and a shared mission under the Prime Minister's leadership, inherently aligning with the coalition's foundational agreements.

The prospects of the government enduring without the Bhumjaithai Party prompted a candid response. Anutin asserted the improbability of such a scenario, underscoring the party's integral role within the coalition and its steadfast support for the lead party that proposed the current Prime Minister.

Anutin's remarks aim to quell uncertainties and reinforce confidence in the current government's longevity, hinging on unified collaboration among coalition members.

Ever heard "he who pays the piper calls the tune"?

Anutin waits in the wings like a vulture awaiting the passing of the present situation and circumstances; he's planning for his time as primus-inter-pares (or "non-pares"?). "?).&

Let's see how the set of cards looks by the end of this year, will we?

Rewrite: Anutin made it clear that Paetongtarn Shinawatra is the official Puppet Prime Minister and I have no aspirations to get rid of the Puppet Master Thaksin and in turn Paentongtarn and become the new PM of Thailand.

That is until chidchob tells him differently

At least for today, but who knows what's tomorrow or next week 😂

A politician assuring you that nothing's happening is a sure sign that something's about to happen.

we dirty foreigners believe every single word you say ... let's see what happens later on ... we all are sure, you have a plan ...

Sure, but I'm wondering if Anutin has doubts whether this would be a good time for him to try to take over the PM role?
