What i meant was the fact that when Putin invaded The Ukraine it caused Finland and Sweden to join NATO.

That in itself caused Russia to have an even longer border with NATO.

At least one of the excuses for invading The Ukraine back fired on a giant scale.

No. Finland and Sweden are irrelevant to Russia. The vast  European plains where Ukraine is located are much harder to defend than the Finnish border. Just take a look at the map.

If Ukraine is neutral defense of Russia is much easier, if NATO encroaches there by admitting Ukraine the defense of Russia would be almost impossible.

Because Russia has no interest to invade Finland whatsoever. Finland is not on the  great European plains which is a MUCH larger entry point than the Finnish border which is much easier to defend.

To take Europe, they need Northern Norway and with Norway northern Finland is needed.

I was on the border to stop Russians if the invaded. So there is no secrets or surprises when it comes to Russian strategy.

By acknowledging that the war is over and has been for over 2 years.  Complete capitulation would be giving up Kiev and Odessa.  Which he may force Putin to take if he keeps sniping around the edges.

It's time for the dying to stop and the rebuilding to begin.

Partial capitulation then, sure 🤣🤣

You assume Russia wants to "take Europe"?  LOL

Yes of course he does.  As does Cameroni, etc.  But they will never admit it.  They only want peace, you see.  They only want to avoid WORLD WAR 3!

For the record, I fully, unequivocally and in total moral conviction support Russia in this war, which was deceived, lied to and is merely protecting its national interest.

Ukraine cheated, whilst its electricity and gas bills were paid by Russia she jumped into bed with hansum man USA and then did a gangbang with the EU and the USA.

Russia has the full and total right to wage war on Ukraine. I fully spport Russia and Putin in this war against Ukraine.

No, if WW3 starts, it will definitely be Ukraine, Britain and the US that started it. Thankfully Trump, a man of peace, is in charge.

It really doesn't matter who starts it.

Personally, I'm afraid it will be a failure of some safety aspect that doesn't prevent an unintended automatic response.

Russia has no interest "to take Europe".

Their only interest is to ensure the safety of Russia by making sure the great European plains can be defended.

Finland 5.6 M population > 38 M and counting backward for Ukraine.

I agree Finland has nothing to offer worth fighting over and isn't

murdering ethic Russians like in Donbas.

If they station too many missiles near the border , things might change.

Zelensky's reticence is forcing Putin to exceed his stated goal.  He was content with the pacifying the Donbas region.  Said so before the operation.  They could force him to go all the way to Kiev (and take Odessa).

Agree in part. I think although this was a well planned and carried out attack but the actual strategic affect is minimal and it's just poked the bear. Let's see how "the bear" reacts. As for Kiev and Odessa this I doubt.

You're attempting to re write historical facts though. Russia's key objective when they invaded Ukraine was to take Kiev, they failed miserably, a complete humiliation

The three-day war plan did not work out for them.

Finland is relevant as an offensive threat. If they were publicly revanchist, Russia would have a problem. They have been moving troops in Karelia regardless.

Everyone should know this. And by now everyone should know who is calling the shots, so to speak.  It isn't Zelensky and it doesn't seem to be Trump, who may well be out of the loop.

Blame the usual suspects.

Anyway, none of it bodes well for the people of Ukraine. I haven't looked at the news in the last hour or so, so for all I know, they may all be crispy critters by now.

We're now in a phase where the only relevant news cycle lasts for about 24 hours. Information more than a day old? Not so relevant.

Perhaps Putin will show some restraint. Otherwise, the Neocon warmongers win, they get the WWIII they're so desperately trying to start, and that will be the end of the world as we know it.  Sooner or later, that's where this is going, unless the war stops now.

Shutting down Starlink would certainly stop the drone attacks.

Its amazing how many here are still in the cold war era.

You are only thinking about land borders.

Russia would lose access thru the seas.

The opening move toward Kiev was a feint to force Zelensky to flee to one of his properties around the world.  He probably would have fled if the US warmongers and BoJo didn't convince him not to.

That's right, as is Russia, they are looking at the possibility of NATO forces invading Russia on the ground, coming in through the vast European plains to which Ukraine is the key. Not Finland, the Finnish border is much more easily defended.

The vast European plains, if Ukraine defects to the West, would become indefensible.

Deflection from Russia's failed and humiliating 3 day war plan to take Kiev where the US also offered him evacuation.

Just another baseless argument.

Try explaining that to the Russian president who has to ensure his nation is safe but is now seeing assets in Siberia, Saratov and near Murmansk being attacked.

They tried once

The Winter War

I don't think any attack on Russia would involve tanks rumbling across the European plains. Modern warfare has almost made the tank obsolete sitting duck.
