snoop1130 Posted yesterday at 09:47 AM Posted yesterday at 09:47 AM Picture courtesy of Bangkok Post In a dramatic turn of events, a 38-year-old Chinese national suspected of fraud remains on the run after a daring escape from Pattaya police station. Li Jian evaded custody by leaping from a second-floor window while officers were momentarily distracted during his questioning. Li was initially detained by immigration police at Don Mueang airport in Bangkok. He was attempting to board a flight to Da Nang, Vietnam, when Pol Maj Gen Choengron Rimpadee of Immigration Division 2 apprehended him. His arrest followed a complaint lodged by a fellow Chinese citizen, leading to an arrest warrant issued by the Pattaya provincial court. Investigations revealed that Li and the complainant were acquaintances. Li had allegedly proposed a currency exchange deal, offering Chinese yuan in return for 38,712.77 USDT (a Tether cryptocurrency), valued at about 1.26 million baht. However, Li never delivered the yuan, prompting his friend to seek police intervention. After his arrest at the airport, Li was handed over to Pattaya City police station. It was during interrogation on the building's second floor that Li exploited the officers' brief distraction to make his escape through a window, despite reportedly injuring himself in the fall. He has since evaded capture, and authorities have launched a manhunt to apprehend him. Adapted by ASEAN Now from Bangkok Post 2025-06-05 1 3

Popular Post dddave Posted 14 hours ago Popular Post Posted 14 hours ago I have to believe that the police must have been momentarily distracted by the sound of several large bundles of baht hitting the floor... "Ohh!!! Look....!!" 2 1 9
AustinRacing Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Surprised nobody suggested bribing the police to let him go. This happens all the time.
Thingamabob Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Fraud suspects seem to be rather good at escaping police capture.

PETERTHEEATER Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago The Major General who personally apprehended the suspect will not be pleased.
