Now one has to use the stupid App on the Phone . Had the same with one other bankTTB last year. they stopped the Internet banking and must now use the app on the phone witch is a hassle , hard to operate ,slow and too small , not clear and very difficult when there's too much light . Always use the laptop at home for Banking easy peasy. Was working perfect on the laptop now only use their Debit card for shopping and and online shopping. There's no need for using a banking App on the go . People can Wait till one can use internet banking at Home .Works for us, we can transfer funds Today or tomorrow or the day after ,No problem. If I get Refunds they go Straight back on the Debit card account that I use ,I don't use the Wallet And any other rubbish. Transferring some funds I use the Bangkok Bank Internet Banking until they stop that. I only want to use the phone for phone calls Phones are Not safe for anything else . People are made to believe that they are save. I say BS. At home everything is more Secure if one takes care. 🙏 Why do you call the app "stupid ". Most people really love it and think it's great; me included. I have an app for all.my bank accounts including my European banks.

I was told they could no longer keep up with the increasing IT risks (of hackers I guess). That's definitely an issue, but I think the risk can be mitigated by using multi-factor authentication. For my Fidelity Investments accounts when I want to login on my PC they first send a message to my phone and I have to approve the login in order to login on the pc. 1

I have reading glasses, but to be honest it's not just the screen size that's the problem. I have a problem with using the tiny keyboard as well. Too many times, often repeatedly, my finger hits the wrong key and I have to back-up and re-enter, It annoys the crap out of me. 1
chilly07 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Then of course they insist on facial recognition, taking off glasses,(can't read the screen) blinking, smiling, head turn, all of which in the correct light which of course never works! Last time I went to Krungsri following a message to set up facial recognition my bank didn't know what to do!

Why is Mobile Banking Considered Riskier Than Online Banking | SUISSE BANK

I'm sure that's what the OP meant. Also, SCB does not have internet banking anymore, but they still have the app for banking transactions. Before the days of smartphones, computer applications were often known as programs or executables(exe). Now they should be referred to as web apps as opposed to phone apps. It is the web apps that the banks are discontinuing. My bank did it a couple of years ago, a right pain in the neck, had to get a new phone as android wasn't high enough version. With fingers like cow's udders I don't like phones much anyway. It is wrong that modern technology can push people where they don't want to go.

They do, I use their online banking on a laptop and the phone app for the same account. The phone app doesn't facilitate the use of two phones/numbers for the same account.

To access the web app I have to get a security code from the phone app. Not a bad arrangement and should be fairly simple. The problem is that to get into the phone app I have to reboot the phone, and before anyone says, it has nothing to do with updates. However any non update related suggestion would be appreciated, other than getting a new phone, which I suspect the bank would say.

Taking the paragraphs in isolation is what changed the context. If you didn't understand the first paragraph then you should have not responded.

Besides that if your phone is stolen or lost the app gives them access unless you have 2FA and a good password. Of course if the 2FA goes to your phone, well....... either way it's a risk I have no reason to take. I will be closing my account with SCB and finding another bank that allows true internet banking besides my account at BBL.
GreasyFingers Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I have my credit card with Krungsri so it is going to be a big problem for me unless I can get a credit card from another bank. I have tried to download the app but it tells me I have to turn off the 3BB internet and use data on the phone. As far as I know I do not have data on my phone as it is only prepay for phone calls. Can someone advise if Bluestacks works on Ubuntu or only windows.

Garouda Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I'm with Siam Commercial and Krungthai, both stopped their website online banking a while ago, You have to use the application on your smartphone. SCB has got a clean application, not overloaded with marketing gimmicks. They sent a message saying that from June 9th they cancel the waiver of verification by face recognition. I still can use it, though. Wait and see… 1

GreasyFingers Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Well they will have to change their web site that says their accounts are for ALL devices
Nickcage49 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago SCB started doing this years ago. I'm not a fan of paying bills on the app. I'd much rather use my laptop. I pay bills at my desk. It's much easier to do it on the computer. 1

Let me post my full sentence that you butchered up: Also, SCB does not have internet banking anymore, but they still have the app for banking transactions. Let me clarify and make it very simple for you. SCB doesn't have web-based banking anymore, they only have the phone app-based banking. Many people use general terms like internet banking to mean web-based banking, and not phone app-based banking. Many people also say they have a retirement visa, when what they really have is an extension of their original Non-O 90-day visa. Most people know what those general terms mean, so they don't make annoying comments like your's above. And, yes taking partial sentences or paragraphs sometimes do change the meaning, just like your comment above. I hope I made it simple enough for you.

I have several accounts and reconcile them each month with downloaded statements into cashbook software.
