A 54-year-old Russian man was reportedly assaulted and robbed after entering a wooded area to relieve himself off a street, close to Wat Boonkanjanaram, in the Pattaya area.

The incident was reported to police at approximately 00:30 on 9 June by the victim, Mr. Guvoy, who filed a complaint with Pol. Sub-Lt. Phuttharak Sonkamhan, an investigator at Pattaya City Police Station, Dongtan Curve sub-branch.

According to the initial account provided by the victim’s wife, the attack occurred earlier on 8 June. Mr. Guvoy had entered the wooded area adjacent to the soi to urinate and was standing smoking a cigarette when he was ambushed by two assailants, believed to be a teenage male accompanied by a younger boy. One of the attackers struck him on the head with an unidentified object, causing him to lose consciousness.

While the full extent of the stolen items remains unclear due to the prolonged period of several hours, the victim said he was unconscious, he confirmed that personal belongings were taken during the attack.

Upon regaining consciousness, Mr. Guvoy sought help from friends and his wife, who then accompanied him to file the police report.

Pol. Sub-Lt. Phuttharak has since reported the matter to his superior, Pol. Col. Anek Sarathongyu, superintendent of Pattaya City Police Station. A criminal investigation unit has been dispatched to the scene to gather evidence and track down the suspects as swiftly as possible.

The investigation remains ongoing.

By the look of his pride orientated clothing, I would say it was a case of a prearranged meeting that went wrong...never trust these pink leotard wearing sorts

I was thinking the same. 00:30 in the woods, just where teenage boy and a younger boy were waiting.🤔

A 54-year-old Russian national, identified only as Mr Gurov, filed a police complaint following a violent assault and robbery that left him unconscious in an overgrown vacant lot in Pattaya. The incident, which occurred late on the night of 8 June, has led to the arrest of two Thai men on multiple charges, including possession of illegal drugs.

Mr Gurov, who sustained a head injury in the attack, presented himself at Pattaya Police Station’s Khong Dong Tan Branch in the early hours of 9 June. He reported that he had been attacked and robbed in a vacant lot located near Wat Boonkanchanaram.

After regaining consciousness, he sought assistance from his wife and friends before going to the police. Officers from Pattaya Tourist Police and local law enforcement reviewed CCTV footage, which led to the identification of the suspects.

Later police arrested two men, 40-year-old Paisal and 38-year-old Kitti, at an abandoned building at the entrance to Soi Chaiyapruek 2 in Pattaya. During the arrest, officers discovered 44 methamphetamine tablets and two bags of crystal methamphetamine in the suspects’ possession.

During police interrogation, Paisal admitted to the assault, claiming he had left his two-year-old daughter unattended on his motorcycle taxi to relieve himself in nearby bushes. He alleged that upon returning, he saw the foreign tourist inappropriately touching the child. In a rage, he claimed to have struck Mr Gurov on the head with a piece of wood before stealing a ring and a bag, which he reportedly claimed contained no valuables. He then fled the scene.

Further investigation revealed that Paisal has a lengthy criminal history, including six prior arrests, four related to drugs and two for theft. He now faces charges of assault, theft and drug possession. His accomplice, Kitti, has been charged with possession of illegal narcotics.

Police investigations into the incident are still ongoing, as they do not believe the suspect’s account of what happened.

Yes, let us focus on the fact that these are the drugs that cause crime and violence, not a puff on a bit of weed.

Staggering around Pattaya backstreets after midnight, looks like a QUALITY tourist 😉

Some are not keen to pay for a taxi and choose to walk back to their hotel.
