Brics had 11 members as of last year, including the original five members of Brazil, China, India, Russia and South Africa, and now six new members with Egypt, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Iran, Saudi Arabia and the Emirates. In the last few months Belarus, Bolivia, Kazakhstan, Cuba, Malaysia, Thailand, Uganda, Uzbekistan and Nigeria we're announced as partner countries, which one has to assume is the precursor to becoming full members.

The economic output of the Brics nations now far exceeds that of the US, and that has to be a huge worry to Trump and his minions. With the Trump isolationist policies and the tariffs, the US is alienating more and more countries by the day, and it would appear America is becoming increasingly less relevant to the world. Will any of his policies change that? I don't think so. Quite the opposite, perhaps.

What Trump doesn't seem to understand is that nation's now have many choices when it comes to accessing services and commodities, and the US is no longer the only big dog in the world, a luxury they enjoyed for 60 or 70 years. He doesn't seem to understand the fact that everything has changed, and very old, and highly inflexible minds like his cannot comprehend the concept of change and evolution, and have very little grasp of globalization and the inherent ecosystems within globalization.

How is this going to affect the US in the long term? Are we simply going to be left behind? Will Trump's policies dramatically precipitate the decline, and will the world simply decide to isolate America?

One thing is for sure, the future is going to be quite interesting for the US, and I don't think that it's the future that Trump and his cronies anticipate.

America's isolation has started already.

We have the EU Block on one side and BRICS on the other. A small ASEAN still behind.

Europe did hear the wake-up call and accelerate developments of their own GPS and own PC systems. This includes arms systems.

In a near future EU will be ready to trade with Russia. And the relation between China/BRICS is quite stable.

Economically Europe can exist and prosper without US. The other way round I doubt.

S brain drain has started already. Many best scientist left or will leave America. Contracts cancelled, same as visa.

By destroying social security (created by stock market) America (middle class, red necks) will drift into a 2 class society. The very rich and the nobodies (ants).

Analysts in Europe predict a economical downturn in 1-2 years which is strongly connected to Trump, who will not end his regular time as president but kicked off earlier.

With an IQ of 91 it's fairly difficult to plan ahead. Besides everybody assumes that he's making the decisions and many of us realize he's just a puppet, being played just like everyone else.

Will Brics destroy Trump's dream? No, his dream is to get rich(er), which he is doing on a daily basis.

America has trashed traditional alliances, China is building trade alliances with everyone else.

China mines 70% of the world's rare earths, and processes 90% of them into useable form. The US military is a big customer.

To catch up , the US would have to start mining rare earths, which it has, then bring on line processing factories, which it has not. It takes 5-7 years to bring a mine to full production, and extensive capital for both mining and processing.

I wonder if the "Big Beautiful Bill" even mentions rare earth production in America.
