Non-O Visa - Meaning of 'Valid until' Date

Featured Replies

I always thought the 'valid until' date of a non-O visa (e.g., due to marriage to a Thai citizen) was the last possible date for entry into Thailand. You get a stamp in your passport indicating the length of stay. This means you can stay in Thailand even if the visa has already expired.

Can someone confirm this, please?

I'm asking because it seems to be different with Schengen visas. There, the 'valid until' date is the date by which you must leave the Schengen area at the latest.

Thank you.
