Social Media Posted June 13 Posted June 13 As President Donald Trump prepares for a high-profile military parade in Washington, D.C. on June 14—his 79th birthday and the U.S. Army’s 250th anniversary—millions of Americans are preparing a very different kind of celebration: a sweeping, nationwide protest against what organizers describe as authoritarianism and performative displays of power. Dubbed “No Kings,” the protest is expected to be the largest single-day mobilization against Trump since the beginning of his second term. Organizers say the event will span more than 1,900 gatherings across nearly 1,800 cities in all 50 U.S. states and territories, with additional international rallies planned in countries like Colombia, Malawi, Italy, Portugal, Germany, and the United Kingdom. “No Kings is a nationwide day of defiance,” event organizers wrote. “From city blocks to small towns, from courthouse steps to community parks, we're taking action to reject authoritarianism.” Over 100 pro-democracy advocacy groups have partnered to coordinate the protests, aiming to send a strong message in opposition to Trump’s vision of governance and his symbolic military spectacle. The contrast is deliberate. While Trump has championed a multimillion-dollar parade featuring tanks and troops, protest organizers have intentionally avoided staging a demonstration in Washington, D.C. Leah Greenberg, co-executive director of Indivisible—one of the coalition groups involved—explained, “We want to create contrast, not conflict. The choice to hold No Kings events in every city but D.C. is a deliberate choice to keep the focus on contrast, and not give the Trump administration an opportunity to stoke and then put the focus on conflict.” On the official No Kings website, organizers are clear about their message: “Donald Trump wants tanks in the street and a made-for-TV display of dominance for his birthday. A spectacle meant to look like strength. But real power isn't staged in Washington. It rises up everywhere else.” Trump, when asked about the planned protests during a Thursday news conference, responded dismissively. “I don’t feel like a king,” he said. “I have to go through hell to get stuff approved. We’re not a king. We’re not a king at all.” Still, the president warned earlier in the week that protests during Saturday’s events would be met with “very big force,” suggesting a hardline response if demonstrations grow unruly. The cost of Trump’s parade is estimated by the Army to fall between $25 million and $45 million, a figure that does not include expenses related to Secret Service or local law enforcement. While D.C. has no tradition of military parades, Trump has pursued the idea since his first term in office, seeking a public display of U.S. military power on home soil. As the stage is set for what promises to be a dramatic and symbolic weekend, two competing visions of American strength will play out across the nation. On one side: a centralized show of force in the nation’s capital. On the other: a decentralized movement of resistance, echoing across streets, parks, and community spaces from coast to coast. Idiot who says he’s not a King resorts to the use of the ‘Royal we’ while threatening ‘very big force’ against protestors, and no he did not specify ‘unruly protestors’, he said ‘protestors’. "We're going to celebrate big on Saturday," Trump added. Popular Post spidermike007 Posted June 14 Popular Post Posted June 14 The people need to say no to the wannabe despot king. This is not the 16th century, and he is not King Henry VIIIth. Trump has been misbehaving and ICE is out of control. His desire to be an authoritarian ruler is just starting to manifest itself, and the people need to stand up and make sure that America is able to continue as a democracy. And he is likely the most corrupt president in history, has enriched himself by billions of dollars already just this year, and needs to be stopped. 4 1 5 4 7 3 4

Well considering the 'pride' parades in the US alone cost around $100 million, its not that bad, considering the pride parades were totally frivolous! 2 4 11 4

Their alignment is inherently coincidental, as neither date was chosen with the other in mind. 3 1 1 2 2 3

Popular Post sstuff3 Posted June 14 Popular Post Posted June 14 June 14, 1775: US Army was formed. In 1916, President Woodrow Wilson designated June 14 as Flag Day. Donald John Trump (born June 14, 1946). The celebration is not for President Trump's birthday. It is to celebrate the 250th birthday of the US Army and celebrate the symbol of our republic, our flag. So I guess in the liberal mindset, if the President was born on Christmas or New Years we shouldn't celebrate those holidays either... 🤔 Liberals hatred of a person is stronger than their love of country. That's the problem with America right now. 1 2 1 3 2
