Teachers and sometimes the Police outside my sons school watching young kids on motor bikes and parents with no helmet, no action taken.

Over the W.E. they have repainted the red and white crossings and put more Road markings down outside the school, no idea why as I doubt the majority of drivers don’t know what they mean.

My wife is from Buri Ram (Isaan language) and of course I know Buri ram  well. Whilst there in the capital city riding a bike and very often  I pass the main school  when school has finished , I see many  young students depart the exit to a busy road and always there is a cop outside the exit acting like a traffic light. To allow many many kids, being single rider , double rider or in some cases three riders get access to that road.

 

But what aggravates me is the majority of those children do not wear a helmet, let alone their age and number of passengers, yet the policeman does Nil ,Zero nothing to fine them or even tell them as a minimum do wear a helmet, not to carry so many passengers or ask how far are they going.

 

Yet whilst there in the capital, especially in the mornings I ride through a main road to get to my Thai wife’s village and every time they pull me over for not wearing a helmet. Yet other Thai riders are ignored.

 

In short I disagree with your response.

Number plate recognition a great idea providing the bike is registered to the current owner.

The cops at Karon Viewpoint around 11pm at night make a killing with the farangs....🤔

While thais with no helmets drive on by Cops have no Shame.
