Crime Suicide Pact: Couple Jumps from Bridge After Father Sexually Assaults Daughter

A married couple attempted suicide by jumping off a bridge in a shocking incident linked to family trauma. The wife died at the scene, while the husband remains in critical condition.  

 

The incident occurred at Huai Chan Waterfall Bridge in Ban Huai Chan, Khun Han District, Si Sa Ket Province. Authorities, including local officials and rescue teams, rushed to the scene after being alerted by community leaders.  

 

They found Ms. A 36, severely injured, she later succumbed to her wounds. Her husband, 38, was also critically injured and taken to Khun Han Hospital.  

 

Initial investigations revealed that the couple, residents of Ban Nong Bua, had three daughters. The apparent reason for the suicide pact was severe family distress.  

 

However, a more horrifying motive has since emerged. According to a confidential report from Khun Han District Officer Prawit Rattawa, the husband had allegedly sexually assaulted his 14-year-old eldest daughter, a student at a local school. Fearing legal consequences, he reportedly convinced his wife to join him in the suicide attempt.  

 

The victimised daughter is now under the care of the Si Sa Ket Provincial Social Development and Human Security Office. Authorities have vowed a thorough investigation into the case.
