Sorry to misunderstand your point Sir.

For me, the whole lot are compromised. US and UK governments for sure. Big Pharma runs the medical Industrial complex. Big Oil. The Chemical industry. The Military complex. Israel lobby, They all have a bigger say than the guy or gal in the street.

Although elected bods talk the talk, when elected,  they don't walk the walk. And guess what? The financial industry is the ultimate decision maker for the west. One could be forgiven in thinking that Joe and Jane in the street are simply a nuisance.

There were 200 independent newspapers in the US when I was young. And as many TV stations. Where are they now? Gone! Just a handful now rule the roost.

The WHO is the biggest threat to human health ever, Yet the MSM keeps deathly quiet.

MMMM ……. this kind of sweeping list of villains (governments, Big Pharma, Big Oil, the WHO, the media, Israel, finance, etc.) is exactly how conspiracy thinking works:
Lots of blame, zero evidence, and everything framed as part of some hidden master plan.
Why is this so attractive to people? Well, complexity is uncomfortable,  it’s so much easier to believe in grand, evil forces pulling the strings than to accept that the world is in reality, chaotic, flawed, and often just badly managed.
Then, patterns and blame feel safer. Conspiracy theories give people something — or someone — to blame. It simplifies fear into a story with heroes, villains, and certainty. And that mistrust is contagious; once you lose faith in one institution, it’s tempting to believe they’re all rotten. Suddenly, everything official becomes suspect — and everything “alternative” feels like truth.
At this point confirmation bias kicks in. People seek out sources that tell them what they already believe and dismiss everything else as “controlled” or “mainstream.”
You mentioned newspapers and TV shrinking — true but It’s more about media consolidation and profit than secret coordination. What’s often missed is that the internet has more than replaced them in terms of access to information. The real issue isn’t the lack of media — it’s the overload of it.
However, unfortunately, a huge number of people are either afraid of, or overwhelmed by, the internet and IT in general. That fear or confusion makes them vulnerable — they don’t know how to verify sources, spot misinformation, or separate fact from opinion. Either they didn’t listen at school or are to old to join in effectively
It’s not a media blackout — it’s a crisis of media literacy,  it has been more than replaced by the internet.
Same with governments and pharma: there’s real criticism to be made, but blanket conspiracies help no one and solve nothing. In fact they hinder any real understanding of the issues People are trying to cover their ignorance with cynicism
If we’re going to talk about real problems, we need evidence, not just suspicion dressed up as insight.

Open your eyes. The evidence is all around you.

Were you asleep during the C-19 era? Could you not see governments in lockstep?

Amen

Thank you. I do not believe people can grasp how our ancestors lived and breathed. Like a glam fairytale of personal freedom, clean air and strong men and women.

For 1000 of years have men and women fought, learned, failed, tried again and for the western world succeeded for a few decades and everything seemed to be good, but people are never happy, there will always be big satan to fight, on all areas.

For those posters who do not believe there is such a thing as a virus, or indeed that we have an immune system, I came across this interesting article and thought I would post it. Of course the anti-VAX brigade or the tin-foil hat brigade, won't like it one bit, but here it is anyway.........

Bats carry an assortment of viruses, including infectious diseases that have jumped into humans in a process known as zoonotic spillover.

Marburg virus particles under the microscope — unlike some emerging viruses, Marburg jumps directly from bats to humans without an intermediate host.

No.  The entire field of virology is false.  It should be disbanded and completely shut down.  And the dictionary should use it as a perfect example for the definition of quackery.

Interestingly if the objective is good health and being disease free, then the Holy Bible is where the answers are located.  The creator of human beings has a definite blueprint on achieving health.  Most probably couldn't explain it.  Fewer still have fully implemented it.  But for those who desire health this is where to look.

"anti-VAX brigade or the tin-foil hat brigade"

What do you reckon a Venn diagram of these two groups looks like?

Utter nonsense. Bats don't 'carry' viruses of any description.

One of the worst films i've ever watched.

I'll not say it's monumental humbug because the are glimmers of truth in the film.

But he repeatedly emphasises 'science'. So Brian old bean; where is there any science about virus isolation? Where is there any science that shows pathogenicity? Where is there any science that demonstrates that we have an 'immune' system.

Perhaps I will call the film monumental humbug.

Surely this Middle Stump poster must be some sort of forum shill, recruited to inflame other posters with his/her inane comments and increase thread replies?

Been bitten many times.

Just wash the area lightly. If it is big enough wound; a plaster. But only for a few hours. Let the scab form. Don't clean away too much puss. That is the body healing. i actually lite the strip form of sealing a wound.

If it's a big wound, like you might get with a croc or tiger, other things have to be done. And I've done them myself. The best way to stitch yer wound is with a slither of bamboo. No bamboo? Not to worry. Pull some thread out yer shirt; or shorts. You will need to puncture the skin to get the thread through. Cactus needle. Or, any plant needle will suffice.

Drink plenty of water. Let the sun shine on the wound. Try to keep flies away. But if you can't, not to worry, as 24 hours later little maggots will show. Just shake them off. Or if there is a lot of puss forming; let them eat it.

Coming from a scientist, of many years, that is a surprise Simon.

Can't science be challenged? Or do you, and your fellow scientists, believe anything that you are told. Even without any evidence to back it up. As in the case of viruses

Gosh! Thanks for volunteering as Exhibit A.

Brian Dunning’s Here Be Dragons is a straightforward guide to spotting bad arguments, logical fallacies, and pseudoscientific nonsense — and your reaction couldn’t have illustrated its message better if you’d been scripted.

You dismiss it as “one of the worst films” you’ve ever seen, then hedge with “glimmers of truth” — as if truth is somehow a problem.
Then, with absolute confidence, you ask whether viruses exist, if they cause disease, and if we even have an immune system.
That’s not a critique. That’s cognitive dissonance colliding with Dunning-Kruger: rejecting reality because it bruised your worldview, then responding with all the certainty of someone who hasn’t passed high school biology.

You didn’t debunk the video.
You acted it out. Flawlessly.

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, also known as Agenda 2030, is a United Nations initiative adopted in 2015. It outlines a global framework with 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) aimed at ending poverty, protecting the planet, and ensuring prosperity for all by the year 2030. These goals address interconnected challenges such as poverty, hunger, inequality, climate change, and environmental degradation.

So you disapprove of this??

Or are we talking about a parnoia that feeds off the word "agenda", normally in collocation with "hidden" by most tin foilers?

Where is the evidence to support the existence of either or both 'viruses' and the so-called 'immune' system?

I prefer the words 'defence' and 'maintenance' rather than 'immune'. There are reasons why I think that. Beyond the scope of this thread however. Perhaps another time.
