On 16th June, under the leadership of top-ranking police officials, a coordinated enforcement operation targeted Pattaya’s renowned Walking Street. The efforts, involving local and immigration police along with social development officers, aimed to tackle human trafficking and activities endangering public safety. Brigadier General Songklod Krikkritya emphasised their mission to heighten awareness among nightclub operators about the risks of human trafficking. Businesses are strictly prohibited from employing anyone under 18, as this could facilitate exploitation, leading to severe legal consequences under anti-trafficking laws. Moreover, the authorities enforced a ban on entry for individuals under 20 and strictly prohibited weapons and drugs within these venues. A particular focus was placed on curbing the illicit sale of nitrous oxide, or 'laughing gas', increasingly prevalent and posing health risks. Despite the intense scrutiny, no significant issues were reported during the inspection, thanks to the ongoing stringent measures by local agencies. Continuous legal action and a comprehensive long-term strategy ensure the safety and integrity of the area. The public is encouraged to report any illegal activities to the hotline at 1191, operational 24/7. Picture courtesy of Daily News Adapted by ASEAN Now from [source] 2025-06-17 1 3

It's the only place in Pattaya that we see a regular police presence unless you count the uniforms on show outside Beach Road police station. 1

Popular Post Patong2021 Posted 4 hours ago Popular Post Posted 4 hours ago The cops can never do anything right it seems. One day we lambaste them for a lack of presence, then when they show up, they are criticized. I think it is praiseworthy that the Brigadier General went on a foot patrol and took his senior officers with him so that they can see for themselves. He's trying to make a difference. 1 2

They need to make sure is it Chinese tour group-friendly. I think the funniest thing I see there is tour groups following the flag, walking through the walking street at 3 pm as if there is anything or that they understand. LOL The other part of the joke, though, is that the police notify everyone that the boss is coming ahead of his visit. Do you really think he wants to find anyone under age? NOT A CHANCE he wants to show he is the boss, looks good in print, and that businesses are going where they are supposed to Bars just give the girls the night off. Move the nitrous to the back behind the beer and wait until everyone has gone. 1

Thumbs Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago That must be the first time ever that there have been no kids selling roses and gum scurrying up and down the walking street bars

It’s better than nothing. But don’t tell me that every shop on that street didn’t know in advance what was coming and that’s the major reason why nothing untoward was found.
