A disturbing video from Vietnam has sparked public outrage after a man was filmed violently kicking a female motorbike taxi driver to the ground following a minor traffic dispute.

The incident unfolded on Tuesday morning in Thu Dau Mot City, Binh Duong Province. Security footage captured Nguyen Trong Long, 38, exiting a car on Le Hong Phong Street. He abruptly swung open the door and delivered a vicious kick to the female ride-hailing driver waiting behind, causing her and her motorbike to crash to the ground.

The confrontation reportedly began at a traffic light when Long allegedly flicked a toothpick from the car window, striking the 26-year-old driver. She confronted him about the careless act, but rather than resolving it, Long waited until the next stop to launch his attack.

After the assault, Long calmly returned to the car, driven by his wife, and left the scene. Authorities in Phu Loi Ward later apprehended Long, who admitted he had been drinking prior to the incident.

The woman sustained scratches but avoided serious injury. Long was arrested on Wednesday night and faces charges of disturbing public order.

This incident has ignited widespread condemnation, with many calling for stricter enforcement against such violent behaviour.
