OMG. I hope the intoxication of the driver was investigated.

OK the Swedish guy was drunk and stupid but the car park was well lit, the driver had his front lights on, and there was nothing obscuring the driver's view.

Hope and pray that the victim recovers 🙏

not to mention that there was also lots of room to drive without driving over the head. In the vdo it almost looks deliberate.

Happens to me too all the time.. accidently ... Driver don't look further that the end of their car it seems.. The haven.t learned to watch and see in the distance what is going on.. This is also an example.. A normal driver could drive without hitting the man as it is obvious he is laying on the road.. Again, the driving education must be reformed

A Swedish man was left seriously injured after a car accidentally ran over his head in a Pattaya car park. The driver, who failed to see the man lying on the ground, was picking up a passenger at the time.

The incident occurred at a car park outside a popular entertainment venue, SinLapin Isaan, along Pattaya Third Road. The Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Rescue Centre received the emergency call and quickly dispatched responders, along with local police led by Pol. Lt. Wuttinan Khongdee of Pattaya City Police Station.

At the scene, rescuers found 54-year-old Swedish national Mr. Henderson lying in the car park in severe pain, with visible injuries to his head. Witnesses said the man had been intoxicated and had collapsed earlier. He was run over by a white Mitsubishi Attrage sedan with Bangkok license, the wheel striking his head.

The driver, identified as Mr. Phonwat Onlamai 29, appeared visibly shaken. He told officers he was in the car park to collect a customer and had no idea anyone was lying on the ground. “As I turned the corner, I felt the car bump over something and immediately stopped. I was shocked to find a person lying there,” he said.

Security camera footage confirmed that the foreign tourist had been lying on the ground. Witnesses, including security guards and the victim’s wife, reported that the man was heavily intoxicated, had stumbled and laid down in the car park. Despite attempts to help him up, he remained on the ground.

Rescue teams provided immediate first aid before rushing Mr. Henderson to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment. His condition was described as serious.

Pol. Lt. Wuttinan confirmed that investigators are reviewing CCTV footage and interviewing witnesses, including testing the driver, to compile evidence and ensure fair legal process.

He wasn't picking up a passenger at the time, he was just entering the area.. oblivious to his surroundings.

I find that when I don’t lie down in the road then absolutely nobody drives over my head.

Just lucky I guess

Speaking of luck... I wonder if anyone would buy a lotto ticket with that driver's plate number?😅

It is a "commendable act" to behave in a normal responsible way of showing respect to human life? Wow.... that says a LOT about the culture😟
Sadly, I'm not surprised to read that.

The driver didnt know what he hit and roads in Thailand isnt exactly know to be free for all kinds of obstacles.

How can a head survive getting runover ?

Motor in the back of the car , less pressure on front wheels ?

Yes, I agree with you as to the roads and obstacles, but not sure what that has to do with my comment...? Do you mean that he wasn't intending to be responsible by sticking around after realizing he had hit someone?

I got that backwards! The lucky one was the Swede! Maybe his birthday would have the good numbers?🤪

It doesn't look like he just decided to lay down in the street... but yeah, not a good idea

His own wife, as well as security guards, seem to have decided to just let him stay in that dangerous place!!?? That is a shocking level of negligent behavior! So they couldn't help him up! So, drag him to a safe place or do something to protect the idiot! Park some motorcycles around him, traffic cones, chairs, whatever! And/or call the police or ambulance. You can't just leave a human being in a dangerous place like that! OMG.....

People tend to care less for others who can't be bothered to take care of themselves. I agree you would think somebody would have done something to help this guy, but we don't know the full story. Well done to the driver for standing by.
