Kex, formerly Kerry - recent experiences?

Featured Replies

2 recent experiences were not good (parcel not delivered, shop closed)

Is this their new standard,  or am I just unlucky?

Just unlucky !

I wondered where Kerry had gone.

I still see their trucks but with no Kerry on the sides.

There are lots of Kerry shops all around town. Are they ALL closed?  I just received a package from Kerry (or whatever namechange) a couple of days ago,

So far, all the delivery services (not located in BKK), have been excellent.

... KEX

... Flash

... SXD ?

... ThaiPost

Except the international ones (UPS, DHL, etc), overpriced & crap.  My experience anyway, along with almost guaranteed to get hit with customs duty, and silly priced at that.

I had to contact J&T Express recently due to a delivery problem with a Temu order.  It was literally impossible to contact anyone to resolve the problem.  No phones answered, not possible to contact them by email or message.  It was not a language problem, there was simply no customer service.  It was kind of like attempting to contact Air Asia for help.   It is all good until it isn't.

So what's the story ?

Did Kerry merge with another company ?

Was it taken over ?

Or just a name change like Kerry Express > Kex ?

The package I received last week said 'Kerry.' If there was a name change, it hadn't caught up with the labels yet.

Im amazed at Thai post Send 2 small parcels to the uk 10 days later arrived Not EMS either just standard registered post

Change of ownership.

They belong to SF Express now (actually,  for several years already)

Kerry was a Hong Kong company.

SF is a mainland Chinese company.

So I would be surprised if service would not deteriorate.

After several days of ghost calls, KEX now sent me an SMS (in Thai, including spelling mistakes): "you have been helped "

I called them  and asked, what that means. "Oh, it means we will call you again"

Kerry used to be the best but not any longer, I had 2 orders recently through Lazada and nothing was picked up from the vendor for over a week.

I complained to Lazada and they changed the courier to Flash who delivered 2 days later.

If it's run now by a commie mob it will be grim.

"Commie mob..."  What does that mean?

Everything I ever receive from Lazada is delivered by Flash now.

The downside is FLASH tracking is useless.

It shows you " Inbound and Outbound " but no location.

So when it arrives at my " local " FLASH there is no indication.

and the out for delivery does not appear on the tracking until 10:45am on the day of delivery.

By that time I am at work/shopping etc.

Don't know what happened to FLASH tracking , used to be good , it stated  delivery drivers phone number which was a big help.

Now nothing.

I guess it's because the SF Express company which is mentioned upthread as having taken over Kerry originated in mainland China, a communist country.

Reality is that China isn't a communist country and hasn't been for many decades.

The word communist is in the country name but the leaders have said many times the word is no longer applicable. Capitalist companies are everywhere in China. Plus many JV's with many famous international companies.

Correct, except that the word "communist" isn't even in the country name.

中华人民共和国 just means Chinese People's Republic.

The word "communist" is still in the name of the ruling party, 中国共产党 Communist Party of China.
