The Royal Thai Navy has conducted a tactical readiness exercise for its Peacekeeping Company, aiming to enhance preparedness for emergency situations and civil unrest in line with international operational standards and protocols.

Rear Admiral Et Yuwanangkur, Commander of the Air and Coastal Defence Command (ACDC), led senior military officials in an inspection of the exercise conducted by the 21st Air Defence Battalion under the 2nd Air Defence Regiment. The training took place at the ACDC’s military operations demonstration ground in Sattahip District, Chonburi.

The exercise follows increasing concerns about unrest along Thailand’s borders and symbolic acts of dissent by foreign nationals within the country, raising fears of potential destabilisation.

In response, the Royal Thai Navy has initiated this readiness assessment to ensure that personnel, weaponry, and tactical operations within the Peacekeeping Company (Ror Yor Sor) are fully prepared for deployment around the clock. The company is tasked with maintaining internal security, safeguarding key infrastructure and protecting national stability.

The unit’s primary responsibilities include:

• Ensuring the safety of high-profile individuals

• Protecting civilians and government facilities

• Responding to and managing violent incidents involving crowds, unrest or riots

Rear Admiral Et emphasised that readiness at all times is critical for protecting vital national interests. The Peacekeeping Company must be capable of rapid deployment and effective crisis management in any situation threatening public order or national security.

'National Security Concerns' This is the lot that ban you from taking photos when landing/taking off from Utapao Airport in case you highlight the aircraft carrier that has never moved.  (They've never heard of Google Earth.)

It's also the same people that allowed a tanker of contraband fuel to escape at breakneck speed AFTER being arrested!

Can anyone give me an example of this as not sure what they may be referring to?  :ermm:

Perhaps they simply fear such acts rather than there being many examples of such. Don't expect Cambodians here would put their employment at risk by misbehaving, and would rather keep their heads down. My pool boy is behaving himself!
