Phu Quoc, recently named the world's second most beautiful island by Travel + Leisure magazine, is on track to attract 4.4 million visitors in the first half of this year. This represents a 33% surge compared to the same period last year, signalling a vibrant recovery for the island's tourism industry.

The Vietnamese island, known for its stunning beaches and lush landscapes, has been gaining international attention. The surge in visitors includes over 881,000 international tourists, nearly reaching its annual target of one million foreign visitors, according to Kien Giang's Department of Tourism.

Tourism revenue has also seen a remarkable increase, reaching VND21.5 trillion from January to June, marking a 92% rise year-on-year. This growth is largely attributed to the island's enhanced appeal, with global recognition and a slew of recent high-profile visitors.

Notably, the island's charm has attracted Asian celebrities such as Chinese actor Vincent Zhao and Miss Hong Kong 2011, Rebecca Zhu. Their visits have sparked increased interest and media coverage, amplifying Phu Quoc's profile as a prime travel destination.

In addition to being named the world's second most beautiful island last year, Phu Quoc has also been recognised as the third best island in the Asia-Pacific by Travel + Leisure, ranking just behind Bali and Koh Samui. These accolades have positioned the island as a must-visit spot within the region.

Overall, the growing interest and tourism boom underscore Phu Quoc's emerging status as a top global travel destination. As it continues to attract attention from international tourists and media alike, the island appears set for a robust period of growth and development in the coming years.
