Shops will need invoices for all products.

Sounds like a track and trace program will be implemented...from seed to sale.

Pic/s implemented with finished packaging for all products.

All batches of flower will need to pass testing. Heavy metals bacteria pesticides etc

I thought government were in recess until 3rd July ..... so how can they be passing laws?

First event after recess is a vote of no confidence put forward by BJT.

Who knows but it was published in royal gazette.

Some online shops (wisely, IMO) switching from Line to Telegram for sales.

Packges agreed. It will be a standard blurb, source, date, license numbers, test results, strain name, like in Cali and NY.

Big shops already give most of that info.

Thanks. My concern would be if you get an insomnia prescription at a shop, then you are an identifiable customer. If they want to check your house, then can then do so.

Don't they always come for it eventually. 😁

From FIS High 420 online shop (translated):

Summary from what the department announced and I asked the provincial public health office myself:

Not yet required for GACP

In the meantime, a brief summary while waiting for the provincial public health offices of each province to come out and summarize:

1. Normal trading for 2 months

2. No smoking in the shop

3. Submit information for Por Tor 27 and Por Tor 28

4. Buyers do not need a medical certificate yet (in the process of making the form) ***I repeat, you do not need to use it yet.

5. Do not post any advertisements at all.

No need to be alarmed, this is the time for capitalists to rake in money, GACP work, low farm prices, G25-35.

As for normal grade farm work, it is still the same.

Time to get into the medical prescription business.

they delayed it already, since literally everyone in this bizz objected...

some big investments were made

Much ado over nothing
to get a medical certificate to get ur thai driving license cost 100 -150 baht
A certificate to buy weed, i am guessing, might be as much as 500

The one that upsets me is the set 30 grms<  I usually buy 50-100 online at a time

I suspect once word gets to the 'medical professionals' , those medical certificates will start attracting a large premium.  , 000

This would be the only good thing about all of this, if it actually happens. I've had several purchases I've thrown away because they just didn't seem right.

Update! 'Cannabis' prescription cuts 15 symptom groups. Latest 2 professions issue guidelines. Waiting for announcement in the Royal Gazette.

The Department of Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicine plans to issue a department announcement to create a 'herbal and cannabis prescription', Por Tor 33. The latest is waiting for an announcement in the Royal Gazette to cut out 15 symptoms because it overlaps with many professions. The latest is that there are guidelines for 2 professions from the Medical Council and Thai traditional medicine that can be used immediately. As for the other 5 professions, they have to wait. At the same time, they are preparing to train more than 9,000 Thai traditional and modern medicine doctors to add more information on prescriptions.

After the Royal Gazette published the Ministry of Public Health’s announcement on Controlled Herbs (Cannabis) B.E. 2568, which stipulates the control of the use of “Cannabis Flower” as a controlled herb that emphasizes medical benefits only and distribution must be permitted. Importantly, distribution to users must comply with the regulations and have a prescription for herbal medicine from the specified profession only, which has been effective since June 26, 2568. Most recently, the department has prepared a prescription form for 7 professions in 15 symptom groups, but there were some cuts for amendment.

The latest on June 30, Dr. Somruk Chungsaman, Director-General of the Department of Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicine, said about the prescription for controlled herbs (cannabis) for 7 professions that there are currently adjustments in line with the guidelines of the related professions. The form of the medical prescription will be in accordance with the announcement of the Department of Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicine on the determination of the form according to the announcement of the Ministry of Public Health on controlled herbs (cannabis) B.E. 2568, which he, as Director-General of the Department of Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicine, has signed today (June 30, 68). It is expected to be announced in the Royal Gazette soon.

The announcement has a form for a prescription for controlled herbs (cannabis) called Form Por.Tor.33, which clearly specifies the name and surname of the guarantor, who must be in one of the 7 specified professions: medicine, Thai traditional medicine, applied Thai traditional medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, practitioners of Chinese medicine, and folk medicine. The license number must be filled in every time. The examination and treatment must specify the details of the patient who is being examined: name, surname, age, nationality, ID card number, and the disease or symptoms must be in accordance with the diagnosis profession. The number of doses of cannabis used must not exceed 30 days.

“For diseases or groups of symptoms, originally 15 symptoms were specified, but now they have been removed because they may overlap with each profession. Each professional group is left to specify symptoms, which must follow the guidelines of their profession. Currently, there are 2 professions that have guidelines: the Medical Council, which has had them for the past 2 years, and the Thai traditional medicine profession. As for the other 5 professions, they are in the process of creating guidelines. If they are not finished, they still cannot be implemented,” said Dr. Somruk.

The director-general of the department also said that currently, the operation of the store can be done in groups of 2 professions: to be able to sell, there must be a prescription from 2 professions, which is considered a large group. It can be done immediately because it covers both Thai traditional medicine and modern medicine. But 5 professions still cannot do it until there is a guideline.

When asked about the case of medical cannabis in modern medicine and Thai traditional medicine, what symptoms are accepted? Dr. Somruk said that if modern medicine doctors who are certified have 4 diseases: epilepsy, nausea and vomiting from cancer treatment, nerve pain, and muscle cramps, for Thai traditional medicine, there will be 8 groups of symptoms, such as nausea and vomiting, headache, loss of appetite, pain from cancer, etc.

“Basically, cannabis shops must be permitted to open, which must be in accordance with medical practices. Smoking is strictly prohibited. Sales to the public or patients must be accompanied by a prescription from a specified professional. If there is none, sales are strictly prohibited. Stores must keep the prescription as evidence for the department to inspect every month. Patients should make a copy as evidence if a large amount of cannabis is found. However, in the middle of this month until the end of the month, the department will open training for modern medicine and Thai medicine doctors to provide knowledge on this issue. Currently, there are 9,000 people who have been trained since the beginning, but this time, there will be an update again,” said Dr. Somruek.

When asked whether in the future shops will need to have a professional in the shop or will have to be converted to a clinic or a hospital in the future, Dr. Somruk said yes, in the future they will have to be a clinic or a hospital. The shops that need to register or renew their registration, which by the end of this year, there will be 12,000 shops out of 18,000 whose licenses will expire and will have to renew. There will be a new ministerial regulation that will require a professional. In short, shops will have to be converted to a clinic or a hospital in the future.

“Therefore, within this year, shops will gradually adjust their formats until there are no more cannabis shops without professionals. Then, the use of cannabis for medical purposes will be complete. In this regard, a ministerial regulation must be drafted regarding the request for permission, which is currently being processed. This ministerial regulation will be under the Act on the Protection and Promotion of Traditional Thai Medical Knowledge. Currently, a public hearing is underway, which will be due on July 12. After that, the committee for the Protection and Promotion of Traditional Thai Medical Knowledge will meet and submit it to the Minister of Public Health and then to the Cabinet.

Asked about the current situation, there are concerns about the trading of cannabis prescriptions. Dr. Somruk said that there really should be no fees, but initially there was a discussion that if there is a charge during this period, it should not exceed 50-100 baht because there are rumors that the price will be as high as 500 baht, which is too expensive and would also violate professional ethics.

Apparently dispensary owners have been advised by officials that they have to follow new prescription regulations if they want to continue operating.

In my area all the dispensaries (about 7) have been closed since the first announcement last week.
