  • News flash.  They're all dead.  So is everyone who was harmed by the slavery.  Most have been dead for over a century.   This isn't about reparations.  It's a cash grab.  Basically, free stu

Then how is it okay for the knobs in the OP story to start the blame game?

They don't.

But you got severe problems to admit that the wealth (formerly) of UK was built on robbery, exploitation, slavery. And some trading.

Face your history, mate, like an honest man. Can you?

The truth can't be sarcasm. Fact

It's fact. Yes. It's childish. It's about reparations to pay by UK, isn't it?

Not even one word about anything else. So stay with the topic.

Shall the UK ask the Italians (Romans) Vikings, Normans for reparations..........?  :clap2:

My history?  My family got pushed off their turnip patches in Belarus and Ukraine around 1900. (Edit:  Though that's not how they showed up on maps of the day)

Thank God Gramps made sure his kids got an education.  I doubt we'll ever get back those turnip patches, much less get any free cash.

Exactly, let’s see how far back we can take it to illustrate the stupidity of it. The idea of reparations is another ancillary of the bleeding heart victim hood delusional left.

Sure why not. The Hebrews should demand reparations from Egypt while we’re at it.

I gave you a factual answer that is obviously against your agenda........🙄

Hypocrite..........😏

Transam should pay, he's so old he was probably a slave owner.

Don't think so, I've been a slave most of my life........☹️

They have all rights to demand reparations.

And it's easy to find out who got the most profit out of slavery.

And those are entitled to pay some billions.

They can ask, but the UK can say no.

Perhaps you should ask those self same merchants for reparation instead of people alive now who had nothing to do with slavery. I will be willing to contribute towards the cost of repatriating the descendants of slaves back to their own countries when the Swedish, Norwegians, Danes, and Germans pay me for appropriating my ancestors land.

Good, that you're not in the position to decide, isn't it? 😂😂😂. As long there are empty pockets in UK, this issue will be delayed.

Do you ever try to use substantive arguments or do you follow the "Yaa Boo Sucks" method of debate

That’s the issue, the UK is not on sound financial footing.   The people will be pissed if there is a payout.

Who caught and sold the enslaved people to the European traders?

It's a perfectly fair question, nothing whatsoever to do with the blame game. Having lived and worked in West Africa I can assure you there are African families who remain wealthy to this day from trading fellow Africans as slaves. Additionally, there are very few, if any, Western people alive today who have been involved in slavery. Why should they be asked to pay for the actions of their ancestors, especially when it was many of those ancestors who brought about an end to slavery ? If there was a case for reparations Brits would have legitimate claims against, among others, the Romans, the Vikings, and the Norman French. The fact is there is no case, whatsoever.

But the slave trade started in Africa and continues to this day in the same places. It really is misinformation to blame white people for the slave trade BUT if we are to give negroes some kind of repayment then they can return to familial places of origin. That seems fair.

Thousands of Britons were kidnapped and enslaved in Tripoltania currently know as Libya. The captors were the Barbary Pirates, all Muslims for whom slave trading was perfectly normal. It's the Arabs who should be paying reparations!

Even if I would agree with you, but in this thread it's about the Caribbean group in London.

(Btw. All your "George" kings came from Hannover/Germany. Is UK now part of Hannover/Germany?. You could see how silly it is to mention Romans, Vikings or whoever)
