Donald Trump has called for an immediate end to Benjamin Netanyahu's corruption trial, or for the Israeli prime minister to be pardoned.

The US president pledged to save his counterpart from the case, one both leaders have called a political witch-hunt.

The trial has been ongoing since 2020, with Mr Netanyahu's cross-examination beginning earlier this month.

Why is President Trump doing this? Why does he give 2 sh*ts about Benjamin Netanyahu's fate? More straying from America First. Very disappointing.

Trump is still holding onto the idea of casinos and golden hotels in Gaza.

Turn Gaza into a Las Vegas or Monaco or something

The only good thing that might come from this is if the Israelis go ahead and prosecute Netanyahu. Maybe then Trump will stop spending American taxpayer dollars to subsidize that country.

it is jot a subsidy. The military aid serves two purposes:

1. It provides a platform for  US presence, in a stable country, that is loyal to the USA.

2. The funding  pays for US  services and products and is in effect an indirect subsidy to the US  companies. The technology tested and proven in Israel is then  taken  up by the USA. The Patriot missile system is an example. The Trophy APS which defends US tanks is another. The electronic warfare systems in the F35 are are derived from israeli technology and so on.

You obviously do not like Israel and are using this forum as a platform to further your political bias. Why not be honest and just state that you are anti Israel and want it eliminated? Why are you so afraid of being open about your intent?

Or the surf capital of the middle east. The Gaza beaches are reportedly some of the best in the region and if cleaned of their  plastic waste and trash that the locals dump, has great potential. It could be developed into the resort destination for Russians and Europeans.

In a few hundred years time people would think that Greta Thornburg discovered Gaza, like Cristopher Columbus discovered America .

I don't give 2 sh*ts about Israel one way or another any more than I care about France or Chile or Morocco or Bhutan. I'm for America First.  Israel isn't part of the USA

On the one hand you say it's not a subsidy and then you say it's a subsidy to US companies. It's a subsidy to both Israel and US companies.

As per usual, being critical of anything regarding Israel leads to accusations of being anti Israel. You just forgot to literally accuse him of being anti Semitic.

His statement was not critical of Israel. Rather it was a misrepresentation of financial activity as a subsidy of Israel. It is not a subsidy, and directly benefits the USA because it is provided as grants under the Foreign Military Financing (FMF) program, funds that Israel must use to purchase U.S. military equipment and services.

The USA has directly benefited from Israeli R&D. US$500 million a year is slated for Israeli and joint U.S.-Israeli missile defense programs, in which the two countries collaborate on the research, development, and production of these systems used by Israel, including the Iron Dome, David’s Sling, and Arrow II. Iron Dome was solely developed by Israel, but the United States has been a production partner since 2014 and is now benefiting from those missile systems. Trump's missile defense plan for the USA is going to use this technology.  The US military aid to Israel  provides a guaranteed revenue stream for U.S. defense contractors, without which the   US defense industry would not be able to maintain its output capability or skilled workforce.

Whether this is true or not, and it's dubious that it's true given the size of the US military budget, by your description it's a subsidy.

Israel has a big incentive to sell it's advanced weaponry to America. That incentive is called money.

Friends , Trump & Bibi share a common threat ,Leftist lawfare!

He’s the leader of the free world , he

can say what ever he wants! If it helps to change leftists lawfare ,its a good thing.

Your source:

Israel's Opposition Leader Yair Lapid said the US president should keep out of the matter.

"With all due respect and gratitude to the president of the United States, he's not supposed to intervene in a legal process of an independent state," Mr Lapid told Israeli news website Ynet

My source? How is he my source? I don't care about the internal politics of Israel. And neither should President Trump.
