Some days are boring. Some days are fun. Humans vibrate like the ocean waves. You can't be happy all the time. Some people are morning people. Some are night people. Just go with the flow.

I do not really have much fun anymore? Or I maybe neer knew what fun was.

People seems to enjoy trivial socializing with what I see as pure stupidity, and when hooking up next day, hearing they had so much fun getting blasted, and did alot of stupid things, said stupid things, and for the great final puked all over themselves, and even better passed themselves completely out. An extreme example, yes, but not so far from the reality.

I enjoy simple things, beauty, a good movie, dinner, travelling new places, but fun?

I did sport and activities for fun back when I was young, but that was more about gaining competence and skills making you feel good about yourself, as well the rush of dopamin and endorphins.

Is watching sport on TV fun? It is exciting, but fun?

Must be age. Most fun dies off as you age.

Some people have more fun than others, and seems to never run out of fun. Especially those who are connected to one group or one place where they gathers several times a week, playing pool, drink a few pints, talk about the world problems,  watching sports, and gets pissed. And they do it again, and again over and over and just having fun. Amazing to observe.

There is one sports bar I frequently visits for boxing matches, and the same locals everytime, except those who no longer are with us and passed on their spit to a new one. Incredible, but they are friendly and always remembers my name, so I do get it, they have something they enjoy and gives them a reason to walk out instead of being stuck home.

I think dumb people enjoy life more. At school there was a dumb kid who was always happy. Football fans are often dumb and support 1 team for 50 years.

Smart people have to work harder at happiness. Their minds demand more. Dumb people are happy with the same crappy beer and football games each week.

Jordan Peterson is a smart guy who has had bad depression. Compare him to the happy pub drunk. The pub drunk has lower standards.

Robin Williams, Jim Carey bad depression. Elon Musk is on meds for depression.

Maybe keep trying things. See what things work better for you.

Oh, I'm happy and all good, and nothing to complain about. And I'm not chasing fun for the fun sake of it. I have done alot, and still do just to feel I master some few challenges, and still manage to keep calm under pressure, so life is complete, but fun? Nope 😁

Shopping malls, street food, temples, markets

honest truth, I'd rather bicker with random strangers on the internet then go to a shopping mall or the market. Maybe some mountain temples I'll go to but that doesn't take long and then I'm free for more bickering.

Im here if i get bored and have to read some funny stories.

Some topics is really funny specially if people tell how they get special treatment at immigration.

I also like to read how happy some people saying about their loving wife who never asks for money..and i know it's not true at all.And i like to read the latest news from Thailand and shake my head specially when TAT come up with their fantasy numbers.

I enjoy some markets. Malls are ok. Very little quality talks on here. Too many fake people.

I got 3k skydives and around 500 base jumps. Been there done that. Also everything you can think of snow and ice sport as well. I lived 13 years on the west coast with the best alpine mountains and deep fjords.

Skeleton was the most intense I did in fact on ice.

Sports is ok, but way too many matches.

Gets repetitive.

I like World Cup soccer. Tournament only lasts 2 weeks.

Wish it was every 2 years.

Also, used to like watching Wimbledon.

But regular sports just drags on too long. Who has time to watch 100 matches?

There's also video games. There's some interesting indie games.

And VR might become so popular that people may spend more time in virtual worlds than in the real world?

Is that good or bad?

There's nowhere left to go but ... The Oasis

It does get boring here I can do about 5 months max then go to Vietnam, Colombia, Brazil, etc. It's a good home base b/c it's inexpensive and the Thai's are mostly friendly but that's about it.

Been thinking of doing this but Latin America is so far from here!

Exactly, nothing to do. Enjoy your malls and temples.

Gotta admit, you see one mall or temple, you've seen them all.

I teach to stay busy (and I really enjoy the kids, they're like surrogate grandchildren) on top of bicycing when the weather allows. This forum is the sand that fills the cracks in between. Ever since the transition from ThaiVisa to AN, it's now sand in the vag. It was never this rife with bitter keyboard warriors. I browse/post much less cuz of the blowback I know will happen. Instagram and Bluesky are taking over, much happier places, nicer experiences.

Why do farangs chat to each other? doesn't have to be serious topics. But some interesting and useful information here.

Age 70 now, at what age can I expect my fun to stop?

You must really enjoy life then!

So much dull virtue signaling in this post

” I am here writing long, ponderous posts; what’s up with all the losers here riding long ponderous posts?

Back out the autistic Bogan, the very funny floor mopper, and a few red hat retards, and it’s mostly people sharing their lives, generously and sanely here.

It’s great to hear about somebody living out in the sticks and installing solar panels. People might like my tales of Tinder dating

Like-minded people, such as people who enjoy living in Thailand, like to shoot the breeze.

I'd say 36,500 posts ago.

I hope everyone here has made great, real, long-lasting friendships via posting.   55555

True. How many will eventually lay on their death bed wishing they had spent more time on social media.

I'll probably still be posting while on my death bed.

Not much else to do when you're sick and in bed.

I didn't make any friends, but I'm not running a popularity contest.

Good friends, palm tress and sunshine. Good motorcycling roads. A tad less expensive.

Indonesia is OK but the roads are not quite as good in places.
