Bar & Booze hours this week

Featured Replies

With Thursday being a religious holiday, I predict that bars will close at midnight on Wednesday and nothing will be open on Thursday.

But some intel would be greatly appreciated.

Closed Thursday & Friday - it's a double dry

Asanha Bucha Day: July 10th
Buddhist Lent (Start):  July 11th

Unless the recent changes to the alcohol law includes Buddhist holidays?!

The limited sales cover only international airports, nightlife venues, hotels and places hosting national or international events on five key religious days of Buddhism, according to the announcement of the Alcoholic Beverage Control Committee signed by Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra on Wednesday.

It was published in the Royal Gazette on Friday and will be effective on Saturday.

The so-called five "big" Buddhist holy days are Visaka Bucha, Makha Bucha, Asanha Bucha and the first and last days of Buddhist Lent.

Gone are the good old days when the illegal bars were plenty and stayed open regardless.

A young lady who I know who 'dances' around a pole has told me her bar in Nana is closed Thursday & Friday.

Another young lady I know in Khao Sarn says it's business as usual.

I just wanted to plan my social life, and (for those who comment above) am more than capable of sober days without shakes or panics.

And your point is.

You think they published in the Royal Gazette only for that Saturday in May?

This year, Visaka Bucha falls on May 11, Makha Bucha on Feb 12, Asanha Bucha on July 10 and the first and last days of Buddhist Lent on July 12 and Oct 21.

BTW, I copied and pasted the text "It was published in the Royal Gazette on Friday and will be effective on Saturday."  from the article, but you were either too dumb or too pedant to realize that

My points is that it is already a law and not THIS Saturday.

Don't try to guess what I think, you are too dumb for that.

You don't say, you're even too dumb to realise it was a copy and paste of the article posted in May.

And from your post history, every one can guess what you think.

I actually copied the date from that article, so your mind is playing tricks.

Do government offices and hospitals also effectively close on these days?

Everyone could see the date of the article, by just clicking the link I added to my post.

So tell us again what was your point, in trying to ridicule my post, you pedant loser.

Not ridicule your post but clarify it. Seems you have a big issue with that.

That's a good point. I had a stay in hospital several years ago and you could order beer from room service. Could be a good solution.

Government, yes.

Hospitals, no.

If I bar fine a young lady on the 9th, can I keep her until the 12th, of course I need to keep her topped up with food, water, gold, and 5G data.

Asking for a friend.

Another tiresome, predictable post  which ignores the fact that the "drinking community" like to drink in licensed premises such as bars and resto's. Alcoholics like to stock up and sit and drink alone, not social drinkers.

Bar are allowed to serve alcohol in Bangkok on both days, no restrictions !!!

Just read the thread about Phuket with respecting headline.

For Thailand that's quite a remarkable change.

What about Pattaya?
