A criminal figure in Sisaket province has been apprehended in a dramatic roadside operation at a traffic junction. Authorities confirmed the arrest of 30-year-old Mr. Rungkitchai Sihawong, widely known by his alias “Pai Aka,” following a series of criminal charges, including attempted murder and drug trafficking.

The arrest took place at the Sompoi intersection in Samrong subdistrict, Uthumphon Phisai district, after a coordinated sting operation led by the provincial narcotics suppression task force known as “Unit 238 – Pitak Nakhon Lamduan.”

Mr. Anupong Suksamonit, Governor of Sisaket, revealed that the suspect had been a high-value target. Acting on intelligence and with support from security agencies, police, narcotics officers, correctional officers and territorial defence volunteers, authorities successfully tracked and detained the suspect without resistance.

“Pai Aka” was wanted under two separate warrants. The first, issued by the Sisaket Provincial Court (Warrant No. J.184/2568 dated 28 March 2025), related to attempted murder, illegal possession of firearms and ammunition and carrying a firearm in public without reasonable cause.

A second warrant from the Criminal Court (No. 416/2567 dated 26 July 2024) accused him of large-scale distribution of Category 1 narcotics (methamphetamine), conspiracy to commit narcotics offences and actions deemed a threat to national security and public safety.

Mr. Rungkitchai is reported to be a major drug dealer operating in the area and considered a person of influence within the local underworld.

Following his arrest, officials documented the process, informed the relevant authorities including the provincial prosecutor and the district chief of Yang Chum Noi and transferred the suspect to Yang Chum Noi Police Station for further legal proceedings.

The case highlights ongoing efforts by authorities to dismantle organised crime networks and improve public safety across the region.
