My OP on this thread  stated the last 2000 years and open to discussing other ranges but if you have to go back 1 million years to make a point then well I think you get the point I'm making 🙂

Do you realize that global warming this go around has happened in the last 80 ish years.  Your example above is 11,000 years.  80 vs 11,000 🙂  Like I said earlier, I'm not worried in the least.  It is what it is....

No wonder that 60% of Americans think it's a load of codswallop.

I remember the talk about running out of oil by the year 2000.  In the 70's, the talk was about famine and a new ice age.

OK the year 85,000 BC to 85,222 BC then?

How about the medieval warm period?

Your premise is false.

2000 years I stated vs 85,000.  Hmm

Please show how the medieval period even remotely compares to the last 80 years.  It is even debated that it was not global but regional.   Regardless, show me the data.  Like this example below.  You really need to be right on everything related to this topic.  Weird but keep at it I guess.  You and Greta have lots in common.

Got a source for that chart? They had thermometers in Papua New Guinea in 1346?

we can get back to 800,000 years before present.

Yes it does 🙂

My point is if you have to go back 800,000 years then what does that tell a logical person?  During the age of the dinosaurs it was warmer also and even hotter in other periods.

Also ocean sediment cores will get us to 5 million years ago in terms of data.

yep and if you need to go back 5 million years to find a hotter period well then it  confirms that we have a global warming issue.  Not saying you need to go back that far but you get the point I hope.

I think the graph I supplied shows there has been abnormal warming the last 80 years.  If that is a concern to you - OK.  If it isn't  - OK.

Montreal protocol was for combatting ozone-destroying pollutants such as CFCs etc, not acid rain.

You forgot Peak Oil and the Ozone layer ...........

The ozone layer was repaired by the Montreal Protocol, which shows what can happen when nations co-operate with a common goal.

Anyone with an understanding of thermodynamics knows sea levels will rise, and storms will get worse. About 1% of the population, the other 99% would not know entropy or enthalpy if it bit them on their @rse.

Insurance companies know what is coming, which is why premiums of property insurance for vulnerable areas are going through the roof.

True. However, this current variation is a direct result of anthropomorphic emissions of carbon dioxide.

We are the first species on Earth who has actually changed the climate. Put another way, we are sh!tting in our own nest.

Ian Pilmer may disagree with your comments.

I've also seen commentary that rising CO2 levels follow temperature rises and not the other way round.

But rich people and banks don't have any problems financing beachside properties.

Climate change is religion not science and I can prove it!

My carbon footprint is now down to zero, less than Greta or any climate activist. Electric car, electric mountain bike, solar house, don't fly.

But I don't believe which makes me the devil to you and your fellow worshipers. If it were science I would be praised by you all!

You're the one <deleted>ting in your own nest, not me. You are the one to blame by your own admission, not me.

I've achieved net zero, worship me!

Takes energy & hydrocarbons to make th electric car, electric mountain bike, solar house, & I am sure at some points you use powered transport. Not so easy to avoid embedded carbon costs.

Ian Plimer is a geologist who has worked for a number of mining companies, who have a vested interest in preventing any carbon trading scheme.

He has also claimed CO2 emissions are the result of volcanic eruptions, when anthropomorphic emissions are about 130 times that of said eruptions.

He has as much credibility as the scientists and medicos working for the tobacco industry.

Carbon dioxide absorbs infra-red radiation from the earth, at 4.3 and 15 micrometers. It's the same mechanism as a blanket on the body, trapping heat which would otherwise escape into space.

Please post your explanation of how rising temperatures cause an increase in CO2 emissions. It's like saying pregnancy precedes sex.

As an alleged scientist, I'm sure you're capable of your own research into the commentary that rising CO2 levels follow a rise in temperature.

I don't bother researching farcical propositions.

We cant be. How did the ice age end when there was limited, very limited, number of people on the earth? Climate change is a natural phenomena. What we do has little effect despite the fear that governments are putting out.

There are complex natural cycles but humanity has been releasing Carbon which has been locked up in coal & methane since the Carboniferous Period, this has added to the natural variation the planet is subject to radaition from the Sun & its orbital mechanics.   So on top of warming due to coming out of the Pleistocene Ice Ages coupled to various cycles such as the Milankovitch Cycles, we also have climate forcing due to CO2 release caused by humans.   Hence climate on the planet has higher CO2 level than we have seen in millions of years.   Estimated at around 4-5 million years ago that planet Earth saw 400ppm CO2 in atmosphere.

WE are.

Carbon dioxide levels have been stable at 280 ppm for 10,000 years. They started rising with the Industrial Revolution, and currently are 428 ppm.

Ice core data shows for the past 800,000 years, CO2 levels have been around 180 ppm during ice ages, rising to 300 ppm during warmer interglacial periods.

Yes, climate change is a natural phenomenon. So is CO2 trapping of infra-red radiation.

Every coal-burning power station or gasoline/diesel - fueled vehicle on the planet contributes CO2 to the atmosphere. Mankind did not have electricity or powered transport 300 years ago.

Cryptocurrencies and AI are comparatively recent, and they are gluttons for electricity.
